Ok..so very confused! (We are going to Poly 12/12-20 if it helps.):santa:

There is a special going on about prepurchasing the cd for photopass now for $99 compared to $124.95 when we leave. But then I'm seeing issues about not being able to edit the pictures or add boarders once we've left the parks. Any advice? :surfweb:

Secondly, Should I buy the cd now, and then make sure we take a ton of pictures? OR should I wait until we get home? I've seen other posts about a coupon for the cd portion once you've come home.:confused3

Just trying to get the most for my money...

Any advice would be great!!

The photopass is for the pictures that the Disney Photographers take of you/your family in the park. So think about how often you think you will be using their services. That may depend on the make up of your family and if this is your first trip or not.

On my first trip we took every opportunity to take my children to see the characters around the parks. Lots of Photopass photos. But on subsequent trips they really didn't want to stand in line to get Pooh's autograph again so we mostly saw characters at the 2 Character meals we did--and there are no photopass photographers there. You will also find the Disney Photographers at the entrance to each park to take a family photo, and some of the rides have the ability to put the ride photo on your photopass card.

Our last trip I think we had about 20 pictures on our photopass, and I only purchased 2. I also take hundreds of photos on my digital camera and am a budget person. I take many of the same shots that Disney is and then compare mine with theirs and only buy from them if there is better (often it is not!) or is a full group shot.

I can't remember but I think you can put up to 100 photos on the disk? For me that just isn't worth it. We spend our time riding the rides and enjoying the shows and don't get our pictures taken that much by Disney. But if this is your first trip then you may spend more time with the photo opportunities, especially if you have small children.

The borders and add ons are cute, but I know I can live with out them. I scrapbook my photos so I actually prefer them without the extra stuff added. If you can still add those things before your pictures go on the disk then you can do that, just know you will need to plan time to be there and work with the photos during your vacation.

Not sure if all this helps, it is just my .02.

We are going to use Photopass for the first time during our up coming trip in Dec. I believe it is Bradk on the boards that developed the following web site. It tells you all about Photopass. I hope it helps. It gave us a lot of good information.

I wouldn't pre-purchase the cd, but I'm cheap. I don't think you are limited to the number of photos or CDs to put them on (you may want to ask). In past years we've taken over 100. They usually take three or four at a time.

The water park photographers hand out mini passes you can wear on your wrist and some rides have the ability to put your ride photos on the photopass. Test Track had a slot to put your card in under the screen your photo is in. Actually, I see no reason you couldn't get all your ride photos on your photopass.

There are a lot of photographers standing in picturesque spots so if you think you'll have a lot of photos taken, it may be worth buying early. Don't worry if you have several photopasses because they can be combined to 1 account.

@wdwcp93tlt - Cool site! :)

You can add borders and signatures to your PhotoPass pics up until the time you place the final order for the CD. Even if you pre-order, you still have the opportunity to go through your pics when you get home, add borders, crop them, and view them before placing the final order.

There is no limit to how many pics they will put on the CD. If you have too many pics to fit on one CD, they will span the pics across two or more CDs at no extra charge.

Pre-purchasing teh CD is a good deal and saves you $25 without giving anything up. Go for it. And don't be shy about getting as many PhotoPass pics taken as you can while you're at WDW.

Be sure that each member of your family has their own PhotoPass card, so that if you split up you can still have pics taken. Also be sure to write down the card numbers in a safe place in case one gets lost.
