do you need to purchase Photpass then purchase mem maker? or does memory maker include photopass? not sure how it works together.

I think Photopass is a individual photo that anyone can have (from a ride or in the park) and Memory Maker is as many as you want from rides and the park AND additional magic pictures. I do Memory Maker and love it

PhotoPass is basically the service of Disney photographers taking your photo & storing it digitally... That is free. Memory Maker allows you to download all those photos to keep and/or have printed however you see fit (I.e. With an outside vendor)

has anyone used mem maker and did you get your moneys worth? this will be first trip with gkids.

Lots of people purchase memory maker and enjoy it. They also have a 1 day memory maker that's cheaper if you only want it for one day. For memory maker to be worth it to you, you just have to think about if you guys will be taking a lot of pictures with characters, dining pictures, and wanting your ride photos. With this being your first trip with grandkids I imagine you guys will like a lot of photos.

If you feel the cost is reasonable for the amount of photos you'll get, then go for it.

And you'll only need to purchase memory maker, not photopass. Photopass is the site where you get your photos from and is free for AP holders

I loved it and we got our money's worth. We loved it so much that I have purchased it again for this December. It allows ALL members of the family to get in pics and the ride photos/ videos are GREAT.

Worth every dime. I'm looking over literally 100's of photos from our 8 day trip as we speak. A ton of family shots, individual photos, ride photos and special-effects photos. The photographers were everywhere and always very accommodating. Buy it!

I agree, totally worth it. As a mom I feel like I can relax and just enjoy the trip and not constantly be behind the lens. Their photos are an excellent quality and the photographers are really good!

I'm sure there is a link to another thread but I'm mobile and challenged to find it. Yes I have used it and regretted not getting it for first trip. In general it works out that if you would get 10 photos individually then men maker is a better value. 10 photos for first trip is very doable and everybody can be in pic

I also think it's worth it. You won't have one person not in the picture (because they are taking the picture.) I'd also suggest to get your picture taken by the photopass folks every chance you can. Also, ask them to take the regular photos, and ALSO the "magic" Photos each and every time. The more pictures you get taken, the more you get your money's worth. Sometimes, if the line is too long for the photopass ppl, you have to make a choice, and take a pass. I just downloaded my stuff from memory maker - the 7 dwarfs video is actually pretty funny. Hi- HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! - and the the roller coaster video starts. I'd do memory maker again in a heartbeat, but you have to make it a point to get your pictures taken whenever possible. Another great feature is the lay-ins, or borders you can add to your photos. I'm not sure if that is a feature of plain old photopass, but even if it is - the per-pic price of photopass makes memory maker a bargain. Just get a bunch of pictures taken, and make sure you scan your magicband, or rf card thing at the photo station after your rides.

We just got back from 5 days in the parks and memory maker was totally worth it for us. We have hundreds of photos and the best part is that there are a ton of great ones that include all of us. If it is just us taking photos, usually my husband or I am missing from the photo.

I always buy memory maker. I love the ride photos and when you think about what they cost if you just bought them individually it's worth it. Plus it's the only way I get to be in any pictures

We have it included in our gold AP but if I did not I would buy it in a heartbeat. When you get home and get those Disney blues having all those ride, character, magic shots is priceless.

We had it for our trip in August and it was definitely worth it! I'm not a picture person and don't take a ton of pics so Memory Maker was wonderful. Even for just the ride photos and videos! We did way more character photos and I love that we have a lot of great family photos of the 4 of us as well.

Hi. I have MM for my December 26-January 1 trip. Do We need to scan our MB under each specific ride picture?

I will be at the parks when they are a 10. Im thinking we will do our rides and then go back to do pictures. How do you think that plan will work? I had planned on us leaving the parks by noon but now with MM Ill be going back to get pictures taken.

Im also thinking there will be long lines for the MM photographers so I thought it would be best not to waste time waiting for them until we are done with our rides.

My family of four has kids 18 and almost 23 and we dont have too many family shots since Im the one that takes the pictures.

Are there MM photographers at DTD? Im staying at SSR are they there too? Most our dinners are at DTD and one in Epcot and one at SSR Turf Club.

Is there a listing of where the MM photographers are located?

Thanks.

No you don't have to scan your band on the Mickey head to get the pics. It doesn't hurt though. As long as your band isn't 3+ years old, 99.99% of the time they'll be automatically uploaded to your MDE

For getting your photos taken..if you're just referring to getting pics in front of the castle, tree of life, etc. then there's no need to plan to do them after rides. It usually only take around 30 seconds-5min to get your pics done. If you're talking getting your photos taken with characters, then that's going to be more time consuming.

I've never seen photo CM's at Disney Springs but I do believe some people have said there are a couple

Pick your spots with this theory. Some may be short, some may be long. If you see a short one - under 3 in line, then go for it. Usually doesn't take long at all. Sometimes, however, you'll have a photog that just talks, and talks, and talks forever - watch the interactions with the people in line in front of you. Be on the lookout for the photogs, you might walk by several without even knowing it, because you're "walking with a purpose" to the next attraction. They basically just stand around holding a camera, and if nobody's in line, you might not notice them.
