My family of six is planning a one day trip to Disneyland (not planning on doing the California Adventure park). I've been trying to read up on the different photopass options and am leaning towards doing the photopass+ for that day. Would it be worth our time in trying to find photographers?

A few years ago we took our first trip to WDW and I didn't do any photopass options and wish I had! I didn't have one family photo from that day and only had one picture with me in it. I wasn't aware that photopass photographers would use your camera if you asked.

This will most likely be the only time we visit Disneyland so I would love to have some special photo memories but where it's only one day I didn't know if we'd be better off just taking our own pictures or even just using our own camera and asking photopass photographers to snap our picture.

What is your experience with the quality of the photos and easily finding photographers?

I would definitely wait. We got one really good photo first thing in the morning and were looking for photographers all day after that and could not find another. Behave as if you are going to buy it but make the decision afterwards.

We like getting the ride pictures and they are about $15 each so it always pays off for us to get PP+ The ride pics are the ones we have most fun looking back at too

I would buy after. On my last trip in the fall I planned on splurging on some PP pictures as it was our baby moon. We had the worst time finding photographers half the time. We even waited 30 minutes to meet Anna & Elsa to discover the photographer was sent away for a break and there was no one there when we finally got in (leaving us to ask one handler to take photos of us). I waited 20 min one night in front of the castle too and when we saw the pictures they were terrible when we actually saw them. Believe it or not I think you are better off bringing your own camera and having the PP photographer take a few pics along with theirs as well as finding kind strangers to take a few pictures (we did this for a number of people that asked us). On rides too we weren't able to buy pictures as we often had people's arms in our faces.
