ok if I go on disneyphotopass.com and go to the store, click on the CD it says the price is $79.99 but a pre arrival purchased CD is $99.99...what Im trying to figure out is 1. why are the amounts so different and 2. what benefits are there to pre purchasing the CD vs. after I visit???

Well, the 79.99 price might be some sort of special.......if you preorder you save yourself some money. The regular price is something like 125.00 if you purchase it after the trip.

If you preorder, then you decide you don't like your pictures, then you can get a refund.

I just checked the site, and I still see the full 124.95 price for a non-pre-purchased cd. If you see something less, lucky you!! There is no difference between the two except that the pre-purchased says you money over the normal priced cd. Both let you get a copy of all the pictures in your account with all the editing you want/need.

I was listening to a prior podcast (November 13, 2007) and they mentioned a review of the photopass. Here is the link to the review: http://frankphillips.com/photopass/

Im sorry if I am not clear about the questions that I have...I completely understand photopass and how it works as I live only a few hours from DL and go often...my question was...the photopass website says if I preorder the cd I pay $99.99 but if I wait to order the CD AFTER I get home then it is $79.95 and I am trying to find out what the benefits are to pre purchasing the CD instead of waiting to buy it after I get home....

There are no additional benefits other than the price discount. When I click on the link you gave, I get the full price, not a price of $79.95 though.

So, if I understand your point, you are confused because it looks like it is cheaper to wait to order the CD after you return?

When I follow your instructions, I get to a registration page. (I don't do photopass.) I don't see any prices. Do I have to register to see prices?

SM3, at least that makes sense.

Supermom is right... it depends on where your photopass is from. Disneyland's CD is cheaper than buying it at Disney World. So if you are going Disneyland there is no benefit of preording the CD. If you are going to Disney World it will benefit you to buy it unless you have a Disneyland photopass you plan on using and registering for your vacation.

The reason for the price difference is in Disneyland there are only two parks with photopass, Magic Kingdom and California Adventure.

Walt Disney World has four theme parks, two waterparks, Bibbidi Bobbodi Boutique and the Studio at Downtown Disney, which all use photopass.

no you shouldnt have to...I just went to disneyphotopass.com then I looked down on the page where it shows a pic of a cd (preserve your disney memories) then clicked on go to store....page will come up and you click on the cd.....a box comes up saying photopass id needed...I just clicked on lean more...thats where it shows $79.95

Where are you finding the pre-order - whenever I go into the site it just keeps telling me I have no photos and after searching around I can't find anything about $99 or preordering the CD

If you have booked a vacation to Walt Disney World you will get a letter asking if you'd like to pre-order the cd. It is not on the website.

ok my friend figured this one out for me....the reason I am showing $79.95 is because I live in CA and am registered at photopass with DL id number...so that is why Im not seeing the $99.95 and which in turns voids my original questions as they are now irrelevant :headache: :rolleyes1

We haven't gotten the letter yet - we aren't going until the end of September.

Here is the link to preordering the CD for $99.

Thank you the link worked - I am trying to convince DH that it is a good idea to get this so I wanted to show him the link

Make sure you use your DL photopass at WDW though to get the 79.95 price.

There are photopass shares on the budget board where a group of people get together and pre-purchase one photopass to share. I participated in a share last year and had no problems with it. I'm doing it again this year but our group is already full.

Ok... the photopass CD before I go is $99. got that. but do I have to pay to buy pics too? or can I print my own at home/drugstore ect
sorry.. i am so confused
