Title sounds harsh, I know but this was my first experience with Photopass and I was VERY excited. When I viewed the photos online, I noticed how hard it was to really see them since they are so small thumbnails. But I did see many pics that were so badly focused - ton of ground in front, blurry photos, no flash etc. The CD came today and they are basically worse then what I thought. What looked in focus online are totally blurry when I view them on my computer. Who are they hiring - idiots? Apparently so. They should be able to focus better and not have miles of ground in the foreground. I'm just so so so disappointed.

Okay, I have uploaded several to Photobucket and it's a mixed bag of shots showing too much foreground, blurry, no flash, out of focus and the photographer not getting the best shot because of shadows etc.

Out of focus

Would have been nice if he had told me to step forward so that the shadows weren't all over my face!

Once again, shadows all over face. I did not know this when the picture was being taken

How do I attach pictures to this message?

Hmmm...I wonder if Guest Services would reimburse a portion of the purchase... Afterall, you did see them before you ordered them.

Worth a shot though.

You need to host the picture somewhere online (a lot of people 'round here use photobucket.com - It's free).

Once you've uploaded the pic to the photo sight, copy and paste the link here.

You want to use the link that starts with IMG

Sorry you had such a bad experience with the Photopass. We have pre-purchased the CD twice now and both times the pictures were really good. I would give them a call....it wouldn't hurt

I am very sorry your pictures are poor quality but I guess I don't understand how you did not notice this before you ordered the CD. Didn't you go in to edit them so that you could pull them up bigger and crop them?

How were they thumbnails on line? They are pretty large images when you're in there editing or looking at them.

Sometimes the people are in a rush to take your pictures cause the people are waiting. I love and hate my pictures, but love to get them and add them to my books

I've always had great PP pics. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience :(

with photopass it's like you win some and you lose some...but sorry to hear about the poor quality of your pictures

The photographers often leave space in the foreground so when you edit your pictures, you can add borders or other artwork. Many of them take up the bottom 1/4 of the picture.
Of course, there's no excuse for out-of-focus pictures, especially if there were a lot of them. Is there a "satisfaction guarantee?"

That stinks. I had done the Cd 2 years in a row and loved them. This year i did it with other so the cost was very low and the pictures were okay. Like when dd met Tink I had none of her actually posed looking at the camera, I had taken one but none from pp.
Then the one of Mickey is almost as if it was taken from an angle and the kids are looking off not forward. But hey they still were good to have and since I only paid like 18 dollars it is great!
I would email or call them and see what they can do as far as a refund even if it is part.

the thing to remember with photopass is that most of the photographers are not trained professional photographers. that is why i don't purchase the CD or buy many. i usually only buy a few (for example, one morning DD had an early appt at BBB and the photopass photo snapped a picture of me and her on main street).

i'm sorry that you are disappointed. :(

The problem is that they are hiring people at a fairly low wage to stand all day and hold/carry heavy equipment. I am sure may of the CMs they use are people who take pictures, not photographers. There is a difference. Not an excuse for poor quality, just that everyone now thinks they are a photographer, yet they are not.

So sorry you got a lot of bad photo's. We've gotten some poor ones, I'll admit, but we've also gotten some truly amazing ones! DH and I got our photos done in Tomorrowland last year and the guy told us to "kiss" at one point. We kind of looked at him funny, but did it. Only after we were done did we notice the castle show was ending and the fireworks were going off behind us by the castle! Those are some great shots! I do play with my photos alot online though, and do a lot of rotating and cropping - usually doubling my photo amount! It helps to know exactly what you've got before printing any! Hope you have better luck next time!

agree...I love getting the cd. I get as many photos taken as we cand and then we use them for scrapbooking.

I have purchased the CD at least 10 times in the past but the last CD I got with pictures from both a December & January trip were mostly pretty lousy.

The quality of the photos has been downgraded. The files are much smaller than they used to be and MUCH smaller than my photos taken with the same type of camera. One photographer was saying that they had been trained on their new cameras-Nikon D90 and they had to be sure to change one setting-she didn't know what the setting was but it was the set the image quality to low.:sad2:

The January trip was a birthday trip for my DD so I really wanted the photopass pictures with borders from that trip but I don't think I will be getting the CD anymore.

The photos we had taken at the resorts (not special session but just when the photographers were there at night) were EXCELLENT!!! And you could tell those photographers really knew what they were doing.

For the park photos I always had them take a photo with my camera and those photos are always better than the photopass ones.

I will still have the photopass photographers take photos with both their and my camera. I will just order a download of the best photo or 2 if there are any good ones rather than the CD.

Didn't you click on each thumbnail when viewing the pictures before ordering? When you click on them, they are quite large on the screen and you can crop them, add borders, turn them into black and white images.

Sorry your photos were bad. In true DISboards fashion, people will try to point out why that's your fault and not Disney's. We chose not to order the CD after previewing our pictures from our last trip- the ones with our camera were much better.

Some of the pictures I've seen I don't think people got their money's worth. Hate to say it BUT they don't look like professional took them.
