Photopass - Horrible pictures - waste of money

You should reference your D5000 User Manual - Starting at Page 62-64. You are most likely shooting at a normal quality level, if you haven't made any changes.

If you have issues with out of focus you should reference autofocus settings and if this is not an issue look at the shutter speed of the photographs not in focus along with the focal length of the lense you were using.

I checked our pics and they are all about 3MB and thankfully in focus :rotfl:

I had the same problem as you! My first time I was very excited, ordered the cd ahead of time and everything! When I got to the room, I couldn't really tell the quality of the pictures since they were small. When I got the cd it was awful! The quality was horrendus! I didn't do it on the last trip we went on for that reason.

Can you ask the "photographer" to use your camera instead?

I always ask them to take a photo with my camera in addition to their camera. It doesn't cost anything to have them take your photo-you don't pay until you buy something-CD, print, download or something else. I think it would be "easier" to let them take a photo with their camera too even if you don't plan on buying anything.

I check my photopass photos from 2007 and they are all 2mb. Now many are less than 1mb. They use the same camera as I have. Many of my full resolution photos are 7mb.
