Photopass HELP!!!!

I'm sharing with one of the November groups but what I didn't realize was I had to wait to use the group code to look at my pictures. Is there anyway I can still tie my photopass pictures with the group id?? I'm afraid I messed this up and can't fix this one!!!

Send an email to the photopass address on their site. Let them know the group account and the photopass accounts to add. I just did this recently with my group and they added all the pictures for us. It takes them about 7 days to get the pictures in there for you, but they did it for me last week.

Are you saying that you are a part of a Photopass group and instead of using the log in information from your leader you went ahead and created your own account and put your Photopass # into that account?

If that's what you did, I'd say quickly, quickly, contact your leader. If THEY haven't created an account and entered any Pass codes yet, then you may be ok.....because you can simply have the leader give out YOUR account information for everyone else to use to enter THEIR passcodes and then YOUR account becomes the "group" account. If the leader has prepurchased the pass (the $99 deal) so long as they haven't used that code yet to create an account then you should be fine.

ALL the pass #s have to go into the SAME account. So if your leader already created an account and put their pass #s in...then you are not going to be able to be a part of that group anymore....because a pass# can only go into one account.

If you blew it, then what you might want to do is post telling people that you're starting your own group....there might be some people who are at WDW right now, or are going quite soon that hadn't signed up to a group and will be happy to join you. You have 30 days from the date you first entered a pass# to order your CD....so, let's assume you just entered your pass# today, November 28....you'd have until December 28 to do all your editing, add more pass# (i.e. from your newly formed group members). So...if people are going in the next week or two and will have time/desire to come home and get their editing done by Christmas, you should be fine. Then you'll order the CD, make copies for those in your group and send them off.

The other possibility is that you can ask around to some of the December group leaders and see if any of them haven't opened an account yet and would be willing to lead "your" group using the account you opened. Since the clock starts running from the time you enter your first pass# they may not have done so yet. Just be sure they realize that you started the clock already.

I did the same dumb thing -

1. I edited the address to include my photopass leaders name and address and information

2. I put in a generic email (hotmail account)

3. I then emailed the photopass help - and I included the groups main email info - and then said I made a mistake and can they combine (and I included all the info and the card numbers I put into my mistake account.)

I believe it also took about a week...

Photopass CS can fix it for you, just make sure your group leader knows to wait for them to get added before they order the CD. If the first people who put photos in are close to the 30 day mark have the group leader request an extension on the group account.

If you dig around you may be able to find a phone number for Photopass CS, but the email should do the trick. Just make sure your group leader knows what is going on.

So you're saying then that Disney appears to be condoning the sharing of Photopass accounts? There have been so many flaming posts about how doing a share is not allowed, even illegal or something, but Disney can't be so naive as to not know it's happening (and there are constantly rumors that they read these boards so they'd not only know it was happening, but know the names of those involved). Now, it sounds like they're aware of your share group and even helping you get it set up properly!

i can point out where disney explicitly grants you permission to copy PhotoCD and distribute it as long as it's not for commercial purposes.

i have yet to see anywhere where Disney explicitly says you cannot share the product with virtual strangers.

if there is such a thing, I'd love to know. I know of multiple ways to cheat the PhotoPass system and I've made it my intention to not include such information on my photopass site ( http://www.stitchkingdom.com/photopass ), so if Disney says no in official documentation, I'd support that and remove it from my site (which has been visited innumerable times from users at disney.com). otherwise, it's pure conjecture.

I wasn't posting a flame bradk...I was just amazed that with it being somewhat questionable that someone would call and tell Disney what they were doing. When I do borderline things I tend to try to keep quiet about it, that's all. Sorry if you thought I was bashing the practice.

I figure there are several posters here on DIS who get so really really worked up and angry about it that I'd bet money they've already contacted Disney and told them what people are doing...and probably pointed them to the threads advertising the groups...and Disney hasn't done anything about it. And Disney has a reputation for pursuing people they believe are breaking their copyrights or other laws (thinking ebay and websites with their characters, etc) that DIsney is almost, but not quite, condoning it. I guess I just would never have put it right under their noses that I was doing something questionable.

sorry, i didn't read it as you were attacking it, nor did i mean to counter-attack you, i was just writing an open comment to anyone who does think it's wrong or 'illegal.'

the bottom line is i think they'd prefer getting their $100 from 5 families over getting $0 from 5 families. with the infrastructure in place, every CD they sell is almost pure profit (or at least goes back to getting out of the red, wherever they stand).

the photopass program is actually pretty generous to a fault as it is.
