PhotoPass Enhancements

It has been a couple of years since our last trip to WDW when we purchased a PhotoPass with our friends (three families split it) and had TONS of pictures. It was great. However, I was a bit surprised that there weren't more enhancements that could be added. I found that a lot of the pictures we added enhancements to started to look a lot alike. There were a couple of signatures and borders but I was thinking that there would be more variety.

• Has there been any additions to the options available for enhancements?
  
• Is there anywhere that I can get a look at what is being offered to help me decide if I should pre-purchase?
  
• Is it a good value for just my family since we are going without our friends this time?

I can't help you with the list of borders, and edits.

But what I would say is, you can't go wrong with the Photopass pre-purchase.

The value is only as good as you make it, obviously the more pics you have taken the better the value. The more effort you put into editing, the more pics, and again, the better the value.

But the reason I say you can't go wrong is: If you are not satisfied with the pics when you return, simply ask for a refund for the pre-purchased CD (instead of proceeding to the checkout with the edited photo's).

There are a bunch of edit for each location but I find the problem is the list is for where each photgrapher was. So while some would be great for a certain picture it may not be available for that pictures' location.


But really the value depends on how many good photos you could have taken of you. Excluding duplicates shot in the same spot I got about 160 last trip in 6 days and trid pretty hard to get a lot. I think if you want more variety it's better at a busier time because they have photographers in the most areas. In a slow time they limit the photographers to the most common spots. So you could end up getting a lot of Mainstreet or Spaceship Earth shots.

They tend to have about 15-20 basic borders that will apply to most pictures. Lately they have covered most of the "celebrations" that they offer pins for. Birthday, first visit, wedding, etc. There is also usually 2 or 3 park specific borders that have the same theme, just the different name/icon on them. Many of the bigger name characters will also have their signatures, or a personalized border for them. If you go during a special event/season, I.E. Star Wars, Christmas etc they usually have borders for those to. Some specific attractions have their own borders. TT, Pixie Hallow, the character meals if you buy that package, etc. That is a safe basis on what is there.

There are an abundance of other enhancements, but only the PP staff can add those at their kiosks if you get in park prints. Signatures for most characters, the ability to put them in other locations, etc. Getting as many pictures in as many different locations with as many different photographers will increase your chance of having different enhancements available.
