Photopass discount find!

I got an email from DVC member services saying to call 45 days from my trip to get a 50$ off code. So I just called today and they investigated it and told me that that wasn't a discount anymore... so I am looking for one too, now, I guess. Talk about disappointed!

I'm a little lost as to what cards you get the code from. I have my photopass cards from my trip last year, but none have a code for a discount except for the MNSSHP party one, which we already used last year.

Yeah, and that was only good on prints. I have never had a photopass card in my room, or a discount code on any of the cards. I am wondering where it came from.

We are leaving for WDW soon and I was looking through all our stuff from our last trip and found the photopass cards they left in our room last time we were there. I guess they leave them there to entice you to use them in case you haven't been using them yet (which we already were so I didn't need them ).

Anyway for some reason, I looked on the back of the card and it says "to help you celebrate save 20% on any one order...". I thought I'd try it on the CD pre-order and it worked!! SCORE! That makes the CD preorder almost 1/2price.

So I'm not sure if anyone else has any of these cards from a previous trip and they can try the code but it's worth a shot to let everyone know. I told DH he can't make fun of me anymore for taking all these free souvenirs for my scrapbook from the hotel, you just never know when it might save us some money!

Those who purchase a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, either through Disney or a travel agency that books through the Walt Disney Travel Company, will receive a special card with their travel documents (pictured above). The card allows guests to register a PhotoPass account in advance and also claims by doing so you can "Save Big on photos and more". Disney's PhotoPass will also send you special offers via email BEFORE and AFTER your vacation if you opt in to receive emails. Offers vary and are subject to change. You must give the card to a PhotoPass photographer to have park photos automatically uploaded to your pre-registered account.

I had never seen it before and was apprehensive about pre-registering as I thought it might null out me prepurchasing a CD price/discount. Can I pre-register this card and wait to prepurchase the photopass CD (our trip isn't for 3 weeks)?

You may get a deal for pre-registering the card, you may not.

You definitely won't get a deal as good as pre-ordering for $99.

Ahhh - so no need to hold out on pre-ordering the photopass CD till after I register the card - good to know. THX!!!!

Has anyone been able to use a celebration code lately? (in the past few weeks) It appears they may have stopped allowing this code type for the pre-order CDs.

I keep getting the message:
You have not met the minimum requirements for this offer.

Sounds like from other posters others are getting this message also. I'm kicking myself for not ordering earlier this summer when I first saw this posting!!! I've had the card since May! Ugh...

Signed into my account as we're leaving Monday for Disney (yay!) the photopass CD came up as $54.99. Then I entered the photopass code that came in our itenerary package and then price shot up to $149.99! I thought we're supposed to be getting discounts not price gouged!

Has this happened to anyone else?
