Photopass CD Questions?

I didn't think it was silly at all. I bought that 31.99 picture packet because it was a beautifully posed professional pic of my daughter with her favorite princess, Ariel. Even better it was her favorite CM as Ariel. We aren't rolling in dough, never buy ride pics and such, but this pic to me was worth the $$. :confused3 Different strokes.

Are the photpass CD's only available at the park? or can they be purchased on line after you get home?

Oh, i wasn't talking about just random photopass pictures... i was specifically talking about the donalds breakfastorsus picture that they take infront of the little sign. It's not all that great of a picture, in my opinion, and for having it on my camera---taken by the professional--- just didnt seem logical to me to pay 31.99 for something when i could develop it for 20 cents.

i did fork over the $$$ for my everest picture, RnRc picture, ToT picture and Dinosaur picture... so i don't have a problem with that at all since i didnt have those ride photos on my camera!!! :thumbsup2

Test Track can be put on your Photopass.....I understand Splash to be next.....You can combine any number of card you have.

Our Donald's Breakfastosaurus pictures were put onto our photopass.

We were told ours would be added there as well. It wasn't on there when I got home, but we did buy the pictures. After I bought the Photo CD I noticed that there was a code on the border of the photos. I put that in and they were added to my photos on the PhotoCD website. I was then able to use them in the Disney PhotoMovie I purchased.

Now that Photopass is being used at Disneyland, I'm dying to find out if I'll be able to combine Photopass pictures from my Thanksgiving DL trip and my XMAS WDW trip on the same CD! I just sent an email asking. Hopefully I'll get a response before we leave!

I believe I read a comment here that you had 90 days from the time the picture was taken that it could be put onto a CD. If that's the case, I might be able to fit Spring Break WDW pictures on the same CD! That would definitely be a good value if I could capture 3 trips! :thumbsup2

I bet you could just write the numbers down from the picture and not buy them. Usually when they come around, you can ask if you can think about it and have them come back, just write them down them and refuse the purchase.

However, if it doesn't work -meaning the number copied down isn't the correct one or doesn't work - then you can't go back and purchase the picture. So it could be a gamble.

When we went in March our pictures were put on our photopass, but when we went in October they were not. Don't know why but I am sure it was to make money! :rolleyes1

ok so that kinda upsets me. i mean its no big deal, but when i was there a couple weeks ago i handed the guy my photopass card (as did a few people infront of us) and he said that it was no good for that picture but he would take a picture with our camera if we wanted.

maybe the photopass part (scanner thing) was down on his camera or something, i dont know.... but that kind of irratates me. oh well. whats done is done. now i know for when i go back.... if i go back to donalds....

Same here, when we were there in June, had breakfast there also, asked for the photo to be put on our photopass and they told us that this photo was not part of the photopass program, and had to be purchased seperate.

We were at the MVMCP on Dec 1, 2005 and I returned for winter break Feb 16 - 20th, 2006 and I was able to combine the photos. I had 140+ so it was really worth the $99. I'm tempted to do the same again this year!

Officially, the web page says 30 days. When I asked, I was told they actually stay in the system for 60 days. I myself sent in some older number when I requested my CD. One single picture that was older than 60 days showed up on the disk. I'm not sure how many days it was - somewhere between 60 and 90, I think. But there should have been other pics from the same day with it, so I wouldn't count on 90 days.

Yes, you can order a cd after you get home. It is a little tricky to find the link though on the webpage.

I also second the notion of getting more than one Photopass over the course of your trip, and maybe recording the numbers if you're serious about ordering anything. I never really thought about ordering them before our last trip, but our camera died at a really bad time, so we really wanted some of the pics. I never bothered to keep track of the numbers or anything. We lost several of the Photopass cards, and I didn't have the numbers. So I couldn't get those pics on my CD.

if you have a digital camera, take a photo of your photopass cards when you first get them. that way you'll still have the number even if you lose it and multiple cards can be combined.

here is the link to buy the cd:

i have mixed feelings about photopass. i was very excited about it for our recent trip (about a month ago). we had about 74 photos taken. most of them were disappointingly bad. crooked or the tops of the castle cut off. in most of them my daughter (3yo) is not looking at the camera. they are so quick to snap photos they don't take the time to get really good ones. in practice handing my camera (digital rebel) to the photopass photographers yielded results just about as good.

i did buy the photopass cd. i was impressed that they send the actual camera images with exif info intact. i was not impressed that the photos were numbered from 1 (not 01 or 001) to 74 so they sort in a random order and that photo # 1 was the last photo taken and 74 was the first photo. also one photo seemed to be edited with 6 pixels cropped from the horizontal direction. weird.

we had some photos taken at ariel's grotto in the magic kingdom and the photopass photographer's scanner quit working. she took a photo of our card and i was surpised that the photos actually did make it into our account.

btw, photopass has already started at california adventure at disneyland and will be going live at disneyland in early december.

Can you view the CD pictures before purchasing?
Do we need to do anything @ the parks in regards to the CD?
Are the posed pictures with the tink or simba add-ins available on the CD?
So many questions...
THANKS

You can view the photos online before purchasing the CD. You can also buy single photos if you want or greeting cards. I don't remember the cost, think it was $12.95 for a 5x7.

I also used these photos on the DisneyPhoto Movie which was around $45, I think. You can also upload your own photos to be used on the PhotoMovie. Then you insert the photos you want into the movie. The movie is divided into chapters, MK, AK, DS-MGM, Epcot and Beyond the Parks.

you can also go to the camera centers at each of the 4 theme parks and view your pictures there before buying the cd
