We are leaving for WDW this Saturday and I had some last minute questions reguarding the photopass CD.

1. Have any ride photos been added to photopass? I think i read somewhere that Test Track photos could be added to photopass card. Any others?

2. Four people are traveling in our party, me, my finace, and my two parents. If me and my fiance have one photopass card and my parents have one photopass card. Can we combine these two cards together into one photopass account and purchase one photopass cd with all of our photos from both cards?

Please let me know!

thanks,

We were there Oct. 1-9 and you could get the Test Track picture put on your photopass card. And yes you can take both cards and put them onto one cd.

thanks! That's what I needed to know. That should save us a little money. We were not sure if we each had to get a CD for each card. I'm glad we can but both cards on one CD.

1. On our trip (9/23 to 10/4), the only ride was TT. :)

2. Yes, you can combine cards. Also, if you do any character meals where photos are taken you can get those on the CD, also. :)

3. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

I didn't know this. We just returned and had no idea you could arrange to do this. Does this apply to all attractions that have pictures (Buzz, EE, SM etc ???) or just Test Track

How long does it take from the time they shoot the photos til the time they are on your account?

as of now, test track is the ONLY ride that you can get photopass done with. they are looking into adding more rides and hope to have more added as soon as they can. When that will be, is up for debate!

as for how long it takes.... if you get pictures taken on day 1, you can go to the camera center at the park you're at and view the pictures right away... if you have a computer of your own with you and want to view them online, it can take up to 48 hours to get them!

I strongly disagree with the "any" part of that sentence.

At Chef Mickey's last week, we had our pic taken. I asked the photographer if he needed my PhotoPass card and he told me it was not related. Later, during the meal, someone came around with our physical pictures, already printed, and he was trying to sell them to us (just as he had described when we sat for the pic).

The same thing happened to us last year at HDDR (not a character meal, I know, but ....).

i agree here. The same thing happened at donalds breakfastorsus in AK... but... the photographer took a picture with MY camera and one with his camera... then they brought it to our table (already printed) and tried to sell it o us for 31.99 for a stinkin 5 by 7. i politley declined the *gracious* offer... but ummmmm helllllloooooooooooooo.... why would i pay 31.99 for a stinkin picture that i have on MY camera that i can get developed for 20 cents??? ok, like 1.25 for a 5 by 7 if i wanted to enlarge it.... some people are just plain silly..... :rolleyes1

oh, and at crystal palace, NO ONE took pictures except for people with their own cameras... so not ALL character meals are included:)

ok so that kinda upsets me. i mean its no big deal, but when i was there a couple weeks ago i handed the guy my photopass card (as did a few people infront of us) and he said that it was no good for that picture but he would take a picture with our camera if we wanted.

maybe the photopass part (scanner thing) was down on his camera or something, i dont know.... but that kind of irratates me. oh well. whats done is done. now i know for when i go back.... if i go back to donalds....

The photographers will not scan your photo pass card, but there is a number at the bottom of the pictures. That number is in the photo pass system. Give that number when you are purchasing your CD, and it will be added. I had both sets of our CRT pics AND our Akershus pics with Ariel added to our CD. I asked the person who was making our CD if we could do that and she said, "Sure, what were the numbers on the photos." I gave them to her, and she added the 3 sets to our CD. Now I am the proud owner of the copyrights to those pics! :thumbsup2

Well, I found out AFTER I purchased my CD (that does include our Akershus and CRT pics ;) ) that I could have added the frames and graphics to our pics. :sad2:

My understanding is that you cannot add the frames & graphics to the pictures on the CD anymore, so you didn't miss out on anything. You could for a while when the CD first became available, but I guess people were spending too much time doing this and so they don't allow it now. I sure wish they'd add the options for you to do on-line after you're home and then purchase the CD.

Ok, dumb question here, but how do you know where the "numbers" are on the bottom of the character meal pics if you don't buy them? I am really confused, and we leave this weekend too..

Also, when you say you can't have the graphics on the cd anymore, does that mean that you can't get those cute pics like when they take them with tink in the pic or when you are pretending that stitch pops up? Or do you mean something else??

Whew! I thought I had missed out! Thanks for the update! :sunny:

At Akershus, we bought the package, and at CRT, the pics were included with the meal. I already had the hardcopies, but I wanted the copyrights. If the pics are on your Photo Pass CD, you own the copyrights. If all you have are the hardcopies, that is all you own - just those few pictures. Legally, you aren't supposed to scan them or make copies.

I don't know how you could get the numbers if you don't buy the package.

No, the graphics we are talking about are the frames and some other things. They will add Tinkerbell and the other stuff if you are posed for it. I learned that you have to ask for those poses. The photopass photogs didn't offer us any of the "poses" for Tink, Simba, or Stitch. I learned to ask for it, but all we have is Tink.

What is a photo pass and how much does it cost ? we will be in Disney Jan
Disney has photographers standing around at various points in each theme park; they all wear the same uniform, so they're pretty easy to spot if you're looking for them. You can walk up to them and ask them to take your picture. The first time you do this, they will give you a credit card-sized card that is your WDW PhotoPass. It has a barcode and a long number on it.

Now that you have a PhotoPass, you can go up to any PhotoPass photographer, have them take your pic, and then present them with your card. They will scan your card.

There is no cost for the above. There is a cost, however, if you decide to buy any of the photos. This can be done in the parks, or online at home. Online, you enter the long code number on the back of your card. You might also have several cards (if you forgot your original one day) -- this trip we had two, but online you just merge it into one account.

There is no obligation to buy anything.

The photos are pretty expensive, starting at $12.95 for a 5 x 7. You can also buy a CD of ALL the PhotoPass photos you had taken. It costs $99. ALong with the CD, you get, in writing, the rights to print them wherever and however you want.

I didn't think it was silly at all. I bought that 31.99 picture packet because it was a beautifully posed professional pic of my daughter with her favorite princess, Ariel. Even better it was her favorite CM as Ariel. We aren't rolling in dough, never buy ride pics and such, but this pic to me was worth the $$. :confused3 Different strokes.

Are the photpass CD's only available at the park? or can they be purchased on line after you get home?
