Photopass card in mail?

Have any other DVC members received a Photopass card in the mail when you've booked on points? I got one the other day for my upcoming trip, and I've never gotten one in the mail before a trip. I thought this was something Disney usually sent out for package reservations? I even went on the DVC website to make sure I was booked on points, and I am. Any thoughts?

FYI, those offers, if they come, can come while you are there. So check your email.

I agree with you. I got the card with my name on it but I didn't see anything different from the regular photo pass card. I think it's another marketing tool.

Just checked our pics from earlier this month, nice pictures but they want $15.00 to download one picture. Don't think I'll bother next time. Had a fabulas trip though.

If you liked the pictures, that's where the photopass CD comes into play as a good deal. It's 99.95 (and a couple bucks shipping) and you get the rights to download and print them. WAY better than buying things one print or download at a time! IF you like the pictures.

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not alone. I also received a 2nd card with the same number in the mail the other day to pre-register. I had just never gotten one with a DVC reservation before. Too bad it didn't come with the package luggage tags or anything else fun!

Makes sense if you have enough pics you like, there were only a couple I wouold have wanted. Guess we just go so often that the pictures wouold mostly be the same just different cloths and bigger bellies.

We got one last October before our DVC points trip. We didn't use it because we wanted to get a card at the MNSSHP to get 40% off some photos and free stock shots from MNSSHP.

Yes I am a DVC member and received the card before our last trip in September and another for our trip at the end of this week. Honestly, I registered it, but didn't receive any special offers.

I believe they are just sending this card to you for your convenience if you're thinking about the photopass. I pre-ordered the cd for $99 like I have on all our past trips. I don't care about the % off per photo as I won't use it anyway. The advantage to having this card before hand is you can register it before your trip so your pics will be in your account each day while at the park as you're having them taken. If you lose your card you don't have to worry as all the pics taken will be in your account. You can always ask the photopass photog for another card and just add that card to your account to add those pics. I had 3 or so cards added to my account last year since family came with ours and I put all their photos on our cd. I had 2 regular cards and a card from MNSSHP. The photog asked me if we had gotten one just for that night and I said no so they gave me one to use for the whole night. They said it would have special offers attached to it. I never used the special offers as I had already ordered the cd.

I think anyone who is renting points should try and log their reservation# on the Disney World website to see if maybe that will have something sent to them. It's worth a shot. I'm not saying it will produce a photopass card, but hey why not try !

I never received any special offers, so I preordered the CD for $99 just like I always do the day before we left. Even though many of the pictures are pretty much the same each year, it's neat to see how the kids grow and how we each change over the years.
