Has anyone chose to add-on the "Photojournalistic Package" to their Escape wedding?

It says that WDW provides one additional photographer that shoots in a photojournalistic style.

I really want my pictures artsy (without getting an outside photographer). Is it worth the extra $365?? :confused3

If you want more arties pictures I would reccomend this package. I also would reccomend this package because I think having a 2nd photographer is a must. There are so many moments that could be missed by only having 1 photographer.

If you are having an outside photographer, will Disney let you substitute the photojournalistic package for the regular one?
Thank you

When I was still planning an escape wedding my planner said that the photog I hired would shoot primary and the provided Disney photog would shoot strictly photojournalistic from the sidelines.

This allows the photog you are paying to run the show so to speak and the photog I was working with REALLY appreciated that, he was concerned about them running into each other and getting in each others way.

The only thing I can see you running into is outside photographers who do not allow any other photographers to be working beside them. I know the Roots have a clause in their contract that says there will be no other photographers besides them. This may vary between photographers, but you might want to check. :confused3

OOOO I plan to have Randy!!! It wold be great to have the photojournalistic disney photographer too. Does anybody know whether Randy allows this?

Randy is the photographer that I have hired, I will say that he was hesitant when I asked. I would ask him before assuming that it is ok.

Will Disney let you have the DPS photographer at the DP instead of the ceremony?

A thread a few weeks ago said Disney was no long substituting for the photographer. So if you didn't use them for the ceremony you wouldn't get something else for it.

Really? He didn't say anything when I told him that i'd be having him and Disney.

No you cannot have them at your DP instead. I think they've stopped new brides swapping it for anything.

Yup, he said and I quote: "I had this once before and it was a hard to shoot they would be over my shoulder or in the shoot... Also I would have to wait And would take up time posing you guys for shoots it was distracting for me . And the guest did not know who to follow or look at and 2 hours of that was a little hard...sorry Melissa I would not want to lose that either since it is paid for ........maybe if it was explained to them they needed to stay in the background and out of the way and shoot candid that may work."

Which was when I consulted my Disney planner and he agreed that the DPS photog would only to journalistic and stay completely out of Randy's way, my WP didn't think this was an issue whatsoever. Perhaps he is getting this question a lot now and isn't considering it a problem anymore, we had this exchange 5/29. I'd hate for folks to assume it's ok only to have an annoyed photog on the day of your wedding. ;)

Moot point for me now that I'm not using DFTW. :goodvibes

You spoke to him before me then. I shall make sure the DPS guy stays out of the way.
