Photography policies

I know Disney is very strict about only allowing their own photographers to photograph in-park events, but surely they allow wedding guests to take their own pictures, right? If a guest has a nice, DSLR camera are they going to be asked to put it away?

Sorry, this is a bit of a paranoid post. Just quelling some fears.

I think you'll be ok. We didn't have an in-park ceremony but we did use DPS for our photography. My MIL has a nice DSLR camera and took some pictures while Amy (our photographer) was taking pictures after the ceremony and I doubt she even noticed. In fact my MIL took a shot of me inside the Boardwalk from the slightly different angle than a shot Amy took, and my mom has it hanging on her wall. I think as long as your guests are getting in the photographer's way they'll be fine.

Hi there:

We had our dessert party in Epcot, and people were going their own photography, as well as Disney photography.

We also invited our new friends - David and Vicki Arndt to our dessert party. While they could not take professional photos of us, the Disney photographers new them (since they all worked together before) and no one had a problem with it.
