Photography- Jeff Hawkins or Disney?

Hi! We are trying to decide on a photographer... i was looking for opinions on Disney Photography versus Jeff Hawkins???? Unfortunately, we waited too long and Randy Chapman is booked. Any other recommendations are good too!

We looked into Jeff Hawkins,,but I think he was busy for our day,,we ended up going with Damon Tucci and we're very happy with him,,*smiles*. He actually used to work for Disney photography before starting his own business. Here is a link to his web page :

With Damon your negatives are included in your package,,with Disney you have to pay extra. But either way,,Im sure your pictures would turn out beautiful,,we did a honeymoon photoshoot with Disney and it was a blast. *smiles* We are happy with the honeymoon photos but we did't get the negatives so it's $12.00 US each for additional 4x6's.

We are using Gary Fox as our photographer. He has done a lot of Disney weddings, and he is super nice! Here is his website....

We are also having him photographer our dessert party/RD at Illuminations the night before. His prices are really reasonable and other Disney brides who have used him are pretty happy with his work.

We looked into Jeff Hawkins for our VR. Unfortunately, he was not available. We also looked into Damon Tucci and Gary Fox. We really liked all of their work. Of course, they were not available either. We ended up going with NuVisions in Photography. We are keeping our fingers crossed that their work is just as good. Good luck and congrats.

Well I love Jeff's work for sure and Gary's too - if this was in preference to DPS I personally would certainly go with another photographer. My reason for not using Disney is not because I have seen bad photos quite the contrary nearly all the photos I've seen of weddings taken by Disney have been great but the thing that Disney cannot guarantee is the photographer who takes them and it would be just my luck that I would get someone who I was unhappy with.

I attended a wedding recently with the Disney Photographer Mike Strickland and his work totally rocks !!

Something that brides may want to be aware of is that I did hear on the grapevine that Disney were no longer allowing outside photographers to take photos inside the parks for example at Dessert Parties - I believe that this is for all "new" FTW brides i.e. those who are not already in the process or signed a contract as yet. Please feel free to check this with your SM or EM.
