Photography Board Summer Assignment, 2010: Scavenger Hunt

I'm a late starter and a novice on the dSLR.

Antique sideboard - in my dining room. Circa 1920's.

I snapped these galahs in the local park using my phone camera - they are eating something! I cropped the picture so that the birds can be seen. It's not a good picture - but I was going for the point.

Disney - a birthday present from my younger brother.

Insect (bee) on flower - well; on one flower reaching out to the other, collecting nectar.

Orchid - I've had this orchid for 3 years now. It's about the only indoor pot plant I haven't killed!

Sunrise. It's winter in Australia and close on the shortest day of the year. This was taken at about 7 am, when I was outside collecting the home delivered paper.

Nordkin, that was close. What is the Clara Barton Memorial like inside?


That sounds like it would be acceptable - and innovative!

It is just the house Clara Barton lived in when she she satrted the American Red Cross. It is only worth about 30 minutes and is actually on the grounds of Geln Echo National Park. Interesting that the sign for Glen Echo saying it is a National Park is inside a building. We go there often because it is 5 minutes from our house and both places have classes. Clara Barton House is mainly history and Glen Echo has art, photography, and dance classes. They also have open ballroom dancing Thursday through Sunday. The two together are wonderful to visit.

Thank you for the info. I was just going by what the park ranger told me.

LOL I think the park ranger needs to either go back to school or get a pair of glasses. I wouldn't have known what it was either, except my DH is totally fascinated with birds of prey...so I've learned a lot from him. Learning even more about birds as now my DD is fascinated by birds of all types...amusing new interest for her considering her long-time interest in her favorite animals...Snakes! (and she's only 8!) lol
