My DF and I just got our Wedding Date and everything is set. So far, choices have all been very easy and everything has gone swimmingly... until I started looking into Photography.

I really, really like Randy Chapman, and the Roots photographs, and would book them without hesitation, however I am having a dessert party and I believe they cannot shoot there, which understandably forces me to use Disney's photographers for the ceremony and reception (unless I fork out the dough for two photographers.) I am extremely nervous about using Disney's photographers, yes they are Disney, but I haven't really been impressed with what I've heard/seen about them. Has anyone encountered this problem? Any advice? I suppose I could just not have a professional photographer at the Dessert party, but that would be a shame since I've seen the gorgeous photos from other weddings. Does anyone know how the Disney photography works? Do they just give you someone, or let you choose?? Has anyone had positive experiences with Disney photography??

Thanks!

You can put in a request but it's not guaranteed. I find that ridiculous. I want to know who I have if I am paying...but Disney pics of dessert parties are all great from what I have seen.

Are your ceremony and reception in the park? If not, you are not forced to use Disney for those. You can buy Disney's $350 dessert party package and then hire the photographer you want for your wedding.

If your ceremony or reception is in the park, you could buy Disney's bare-bones 3-hour package for those parts and hire an outside photographer for everything else. The package is $1,300 though.

I'm not sure how it works on your end, but I know we routinely go into the parks for dessert receptions. The coordinator contacts us before hand and we provide names and license plate numbers and go in the back with the coordinator or in the front with the bride and groom. I know other photographers do the same. Plus, you'll probably already have that in your photographer package if you go outside for those services. Why not take advantage of it, right?!

I'm going to hope it works out that way. :) I think they have changed the rules and tightened security. I was told absolutely no outside photographers. I'll find out more details when I have my planning session! Thank you!

Thank you so much! I looked into it, and think this may be the route I'll take!!! All thanks to your advice!:g:thumbsup2

Ceremony will be held at the Wedding Pavilion and the Reception at Whitehall Room & Patio. Your advice works perfectly! Thanks again!

I can definitely recommend my photographer who I think is fabulous who is Julie Brewer photography and Videography.
