Photographing Pets

they are blue...sometimes they do look like a very very light blue and can appear to be white. he is such a stud isn't he :lmao:

Our house is a zoo. :rotfl: I'm sure we'd have more if the kids would let us. Buddy and the 2 cats are rescues. The other two dogs are purebred. All are spoiled rotten.

Yes, we have a Disney thing going with the cat names, but not the dogs. J. Cricket came first, so when Ro came along and he looked like Figaro, we just didn't even think about anything else. Our bichons are Holly Noel and Sasha Marie and our spaniel-chow mix (or spow as my DH calls him) is named Buddy Hackett. :lmao: My daughter named him that.

I'll work on getting a couple of pictures of them up later. DD is hogging the computer tonight. So maybe tomorrow?

Buddy Hackett???? There MUST be a good story behind that one.

OK spill the beans, Merry.

Thanks, Linda for the compliment on the floors. I was really taking a picture of the floors but Snappy horned in on the picture.:rotfl:

Not really, I think DD11 took the picture.

I did tell you our new camera was chosen based not necessarily on the quality of the pictures but on its sturdiness?

It is pretty good though, it is an Olympus, supposed to be able to withstand a lot of punishment, read as major use by a teen and a preteen. And the very next time I go deep sea diving, I am so taking that camera since it is waterproof (not sure if I am though). Ha!

Okay. Let's see if I can tell it right. Buddy adopted us. He just sort of appeared one day and decided to stay. I said "No way! We don't need another dog!" and the kids and DH gave me the sad-eyed look. They said it was our Christian duty to find him a home and not turn him out on his own. So I finally agreed as long as there were certain ground rules:

1. We were not naming him. (My experience has been that once they're named, you're hooked for life.)

2. We were just keeping him long enough to find his owner or a new home.

3. We would keep him in the yard, not the house.

Well, we ended up calling him Buddy. They assured me it was not his NAME, but just something to call him other than "hey dog". He's been with us for 7 or 8 years now, so I guess he's staying. :rolleyes1 And he comes in in the summer to get cool and in the winter to get warm. My rules all went right out the window. But I do love him. He's a very sweet dog.

Eventually, DD said that his name should be more than just plain Buddy. All the other pets had more than one name and he was pitiful. We joked about Buddy Holly, but since we have a Holly we decided that would be confusing to everyone. DD loves musicals, so she thought of The Music Man and Buddy Hackett. Buddy is silly as a pup and always dancing around and spinning in circles, so she proclaimed that Hackett was the perfect name for him. And Buddy had a coughing fit which made her even more sure that Hackett was the right choice. So maybe he's trying to carry on the Disney tradition. Buddy Hackett was in the Love Bug movies and in The Little Mermaid.

Sorry I'm so slow. Here is a picture of Buddy Hackett. :rotfl: He doesn't like sitting still for photos, so it's not very flattering. He always thinks he's getting into trouble. And if you try to take natural photos of him he's a blur.

And this is a picture of our two bichons at Halloween. The larger one is Sasha and the smaller one is Holly. They are double cousins. The breeder has several dogs. Sasha's mother and Holly's dad are brother and sister. Same with Sasha's dad and Holly's mother. And yet they don't look that much alike.

So now you've seen our whole fur-family. ;)

Here's a picture of one of my dogs playing in the snow. She's a miniature schnauzer and is a real character.

What a sweet face - she looks like she has miniature schnauzer coloring. Sorry to hear her health is rapidly declining.:sad1:

We lost her this past monday. I'm thankful we she was able to spend Sunday on the sofa watching football with me (just like always) and begging for snacks (just like always).

I've hot hundreds of photos of her. I'll create a slideshow sometime. Just cant do it right now.

Here's our latest addition to the family. He is very difficult to photograph as he doesn't sit still for very long...

This was my dog Jake. We had to put him down in March cause he couldn't move his back legs and it was hard to get him out. He was 14 and a half when we put him down so I knew it was coming. I miss him though.

I'm sorry about Jake, Kim. The picture in the snow reminds me of some I have of my Cody when he lost the use of his rear legs at 13. We got him some wheels so once a day he could still "walk" with us. It was amazing to see him go, if just for a short while...

I didn't take this picture, but I thought it was awesome and that people here would appreciate it.
