Ok I know I have seen this discussed before but I am not sure if anyone has actually POSTED the names of photographers they have used......DD is beginning to wonder if paying $1000.00 for a photographer from Shutters will be worth the money. She is considering (if she can find one) paying for a lower category room for a photographer to come on the cruise with us for her wedding.

Has anyone done this yet?? If so WHO and if you don't mind can you kind of give us a ballpark of what they charged you?? Heck if I were a photographer I would do it for the 4 day cruise with 1 day of work (but then that is me!!...LOL) and they in reality could still do a wedding on Saturday before we sail and on the saturday after we get back since we are back on Thursday...not a bad deal, but then ya never know.

Ok so all of that said I know she had one she liked who had done a few friends weddings and so on and she is going to contact him, but I told her I would ask here also and see what I could come up with for her. I know she is concerned because there are so FEW pictures of the actual CRUISELINE CEREMONIES to actually look at it's not like you can really see what they have done so I guess I can see her point.....Any help would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks in advance:goodvibes

This is exactly what I did for our Disney wedding. I flew in our photographers from New Orleans and I paid for their flight and room. They happily accepted and it worked out pretty well. I think it is a wonderful idea because even though you might spend more overall, your photos will be a TON better and you will have chosen the photographer and style you really love.

I would guess that most photographers would definitely do it :) Who could resist!!! :goodvibes

I would think so also. So now she is going to do some checking around and see what she can find out. Only "small" problem she has is that she is living in Dallas, so it will be a bit of searching to even get names of photographers in the Orlando area, plus the time difference and her work schedule. I know I see lots of posts for Misty, Randy Chapman, Roots. I can't remember the name of the guy she really likes. I will keep you all posted on what she finds out as time goes on.

Ok she has received one e-mail responce allready....the photographer has asked DD to call to discuss the possibilities:banana: so maybe this will not be as hard as she may have thought in the beginning!!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for her.

I think there was a bride 'Bride-to-be' who posted about DCl wedding & having a large number of guests... it turned into a long thread. She had mentioned in that thread she contacted some photographers who were going to do it for cost of cruise I think... Not sure where the thread is though. Sorry, that probably doesn't help much.

Yeah when you said bride to be I had remembered her original post and was just looking it over again....thanks. I noticed you are from Philly....I am on the opposite side of the state about an hour north of Pittsburgh, nice to see another Pennsylvanian......thanks again

Cool, I hope that helps a little. yeah, not alot of PA girls here, alot of Jersey girls though.

One thing to take into consideration is time of year. If you're going to try something like this during peak wedding months some of the more popular photographers are very busy during this time, so even though they would love to take a cruise, it's not always feasible when they take into account any other business they might lose.

Hello there! Check your PM's aka Personal/Privates messages, I sent you a message in regard to your request!!!:)

Ok a little update from DD.....First off I am forwarding the private message to her, thanks for sending DSNYGRL:) Now off to what she found out so far. She spoke with the very first photographer she e-mailed and she is very interested in doing the Wedding!!! She is going to Puerto Rico this weekend for a Wedding. DD is having her send a contract to look over for a destination Wedding!!!!

One of the others was asking a bit more that DD was willing to do and she is waiting for an e-mail from another to see if they reply. So I guess it wasn't as hard as DD had thought it might be. I do not want to post here YET who the interested Photographer is but will let you all know as soon as a final decision is made. I am so happy it is working out for her she really wanted to have great pictures and was worried that the photographer from Shutters wasn't what she needed for the wedding.

The interested Photographer even suggested getting off the ship in Nassau and taking some pictures there, but my daughter is worried about time frame for that and the ceremony, so she suggested just a bridal portrate session. She is giving her several options, but I didn't get all of the info yet, it is still in the works and I am not sure that everything has been discussed yet.

OK so that is an update and I will deffinatly post here when she has made the final decision!!!! That way if anyone else will be shopping around for a photographer willing to do the cruise you will have at least one to consider who has done it.......Will keep you informed!!!!:goodvibes

I have talked to TONS of photograhers. I could tell you all about them. I have not found any photographers willing to come in exchange for a stateroom. Some photographer just charge there normal rates if you just want a couple of hours of pictures, others charge quite a bit more. The going rate seems to be $1000 a day if you want pictures from the entire cruise. The best deal that I have found was nu visions in photography, www.nuvisionsinphotography.com they are $5,000 for one day. They claim to be one of the top 10 photographers in the world. I am not sure how reliable the award is, but there pictures are really really amazing. Garrett Nudd has nice pictures he is $5000 for the wedding day with a few pictures here and there for the other days. Kevin Keelan nobody has seems to have heard of but I really like his work - his weekday rate is $1100/day I think its unlimited coverage but he hasn't emailed me back.

I talked to the wedding planners from the Celebration Hotel. They recommended www.amagicmoment.com, Randy Chapman and another lady whose name I can't remember.

Basically it seems as though everyone is the same price depending on what you want.

I think we are going to go with either Kevin Keelan or Garrett Nudd, but I am still waiting for more info from Kevin.

If anyone is willing to share the name of a photographer willing to come for the price of a stateroom please let me know! :o)

My DH and I would totally do it in exchange for a free cruise! (We are professionals!) Our website totally sucks - I am working on upgrading it at the moment - but check it out. I also have some recent wedding pics in my PJ - see link at bottom. We do not do anywhere near the number of weddings that Randy and Misty do, but we keep busy for our small town. We are really creative and affordable! Plus we live a little over an hour away from Disney. Weddings are my absolute favorite thing to photograph, and I would follow you around until you were sick of pictures! :lmao: All of my brides hear me say - "Just one more shot!" Something to consider!

CinderelliT, thanks so much for the awesome offer. If you website is finished in the next few weeks let me know! I would love to see more pictures!
