I am an amateur photographer that likes to eat. So I will be posting some of the restaurants that we visited. Second night was Coral Reef. Me, DW, DD14, DD8. This was a gamble because neither of our girls eat fish and I have read mixed reviews on Coral Reef. We had a seat in the third tier but still had a good view of the Seas. On thing that I was not expecting from this restaurant was how noisy it was. I had read some comments on other reviews that mentioned that those sitting next to the glass were constantly interrupted with people coming up to get a better view. We watched in amazement as some people would swarmed around people trying to dine next to the window. Anyway we were all hungry and devoured our appetizers before we I could get any photos of them. DW and I ordered the appetizer for two and although everything was good the portions were small. DD14 took a chance on the Sea and Land after here positive experience with shrimp the previous night and thought that it was amazing.

On to the main courses:

Pan-seared Seasonal Catch (Halibut) - with wild mushrooms and scallop risotto with celery root nage finished with parsley-truffle oil. DW thought that this was very good. It had a light golden crust but was still moist on the inside.

Grilled Mahi Mahi - served with spiced pineapple chutney over cashew-jasmine rice finished with coconut rum beurre blanc. I had this and it was very well prepared.

Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with roasted potatoes, watercress and tomatoes tossed in caramelized shallot vinaigrette. DD14 had this and loved it.

DD8 had a cheese pizza.

OMG thank you :worship: for sharing those pics. I made ressies for our trip in Nov. I debated back n forth but now I'm glad I did.

Thanks for the reviews and great pics. We have reservations for Tappen Edo and Coral Reef. We can't wait to go back to TE and now we have some tips for Coral Reef.

Where else did you get pics from? I love food pics and yours are wonderful.

Wonderful pictures! What are you using for a camera?

I have a Nikon D90. Funny thing that I did not mention before. The waitress saw me taking pictures of dessert and asked to see them. After showing her them, she said that the chef had to see these. She took my camera :scared1: and hauled it off to the kitchen. After a few short minutes she came back and said that the chef was very impressed with the pictures and honored that I would shot his work.

Oh yum! Your pics are great and the food looks delish!:goodvibes

Coral Reef is definitely on my list. I had heard so much negative about this place from so many people:confused3...it looks awesome!

I am off to hunt down your other reviews...are they easy to find? Did you split them up to torture us - LOL!:rotfl:

Just want you to know that my DS(17) really want to have your lens. :sad2: He read that you have a Sigma?? Thanks a lot. :rolleyes1

I'll never eat here, because even though I like to eat fish I don't like live fish (they creep me out), so it's wonderful to see such great photos of food I'll never get to try.
