I am sure I did not come up with the idea myself.... I'm not that clever!!!
I did this as well to keep the pins together. What started as a small collection of special pins - Halloween & Christmas party, Annual Pass & holiday pins, has now gotten to be an obsession!
Once Tara started trading, I wanted a place for our non-tradeable pins to be kept permanently so there was no confusion. As you can see - the board is full. I need to start another board. I would love to find something that is easy for her to take down, put up.... as she does like to look at them, and -re-arrange them.
I am working on a 'gallery' with some of the pics I have taken at Disney - they all have black frames. I also have a couple lithographs as well.. I need a Disney room - which is something I never really wanted - rather I have little bits of Disney in each room!
I have seen/heard some folks making nice fabric banners to pin them to - but that would require sewing talent of which I have none...
I keep the backs as together as I can..... we find them everywhere though!
Tara never liked wearing the lanyard for long, so we bought one of the little pin trading bags - that is where it all went WRONG.
It was not very convenient to have to dump them out to look through. So I bought her a small "book" with Tink on the front that has a clip so you can hang it from backpack, belt, etc. It has two pieces of fabric to put the pins on - it holds just enough for a day of trading.... when we were on the monorail from CR to MK I took the bag out and asked if she wanted to pick a few to start with - and she did not want to do it at that time... and I OBVIOUSLY forgot to put it back in my camera bag. I hope the family that found them is enjoying them.... maybe they thought it was PIXIE DUST.
That is the saga of the Pin Trading debacle, and my recent EBAY Frenzy!
There is only one pin that I have not been able to replace the exact same pin or something similiar... as 2003
MVMCP pin - with Tinkerbelle standing on a Christmas package. So far I've seen only one on EBAY, in a lot that was VERY expensive. I am going to stop in the Expo at MK one of these days, and see if there is anywhere Disney that sells party pins from previous years!
From now on we only take 8-10 pins at a time!!!
