Oh wise shutterbugs, I just signed up for photobucket as I want to be able to post my Dis pics in a trip report. DO I have to 'browse' and 'insert' every picture? Will it take a group as an album? If not, it will take forever! I couldn't find an answer on their site. If this is the only way, do you know another pic host site that will accept an entire folder (from IE My Pictures) with a few clicks?
You have to upload any picture from your computer to photobucket if you want to view it online. You can upload up to 19 pictures in 1 submit, but you do have to browse for each picture. If you do it correctly each time you click on browse it should take you to the last folder you browsed. Just above where it says browse on photobucket there is a drop down box next to submit multiple pictures. Change the number and it gives you more image boxes to load. I normally only upload no more than 10 at a time, but my picture files are over 2mb each. It is kind of a pain, but it really isn't any different than any of the other free photo hosting sites.
Sounds like you have lots of pictures. 25 bucks is a pretty small price, IMO, for all the benefits that the upgraded site gives you. It really is a joy to work with. When I upload fro a picture thread, I use the ftp, maybe 150 at a shot.
Getting all my pictures in some reasonable order is a full time job! Even with individual folders for each park, etc, then how to orangize them - by attraction, by date.... Oh my - then if I change my naming scheme - all the photos I have posted to the board will leave a broken link... I guess not really a bad thing for some that are way out of date!
I have to do my pics as soon as I come home from a day at the parks. If I get behind it is soooo overwhelming!
First off let me thank everyone for all the great info they post on this board, I have learned so much. Now for my problem. I have used the free Photobucket for some time now, and I thought the size of the pictures that I posted on this site was perfect. Well I decided to pay the $25.00 membership, and now the pictures I post fill the page. I have tried resizing the pictures on Photobucket, using the edit button on the picture, but I can't get it to work. I am Photography Challenged, and I just can't figure it out. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
you have to resize at photobucket and then save it then it will be smaller. if you do make it smaller that will be the new size on your photobucket account. ok go to edit then resize and click resize it should work you have to pick the % you want
i was thinking of paying the $25 also but my 8 mp are huge now as freebies, so if that makes them bigger yet, maybe not. what is the size you are posting to that if you don't mind me asking?
mine are about twice that (largest one ) now so guess they'd be poster sized if i paid i thought photobucket automatically downsized but maybe that is only for freebies?
I don't know WHAT I did, but now my photos are not displayed on on my albums! I can click 'slideshow' and see the photos, but All I see is the little cel phone icon! Oh gosh, what did I do. I am trying my darndnest to figure out how to fix it, but nothing.....
anyone??
Photobucket has changed their re-sizing option - now instead of percentage of of original size it has avatar, website, message board. They also changed the uploading section a bit......
