Well, not a disaster, exactly...

I spent hours putting together our photopass book. I must have proof-read it 20 times. It was so expensive, I wanted to make sure that I got everything right. I even had my mother proof-read it for me. Well, I got it in the mail yeaterday and wouldn't you know - I spelled out last name WRONG on the cover!!!! (:scared1: - this was me when I opened the package!) I thought "this has to be a mistake" and brought up my saved project. There it was, spelled incorrectly. I don't know how I could have overlooked that mistake so many times!
Oh, well. I can laugh about it today. I guess the next one will be "perfect".

Other than the cover, I am really happy with it. I would definitely recommend it. Easy to make and just beautiful. So worth the cost.

:rotfl2:

Thats too funny - your own last name - lol

My little secret I did one from Kodak years ago and same thing proof read it a billion times and I mispelled - Disney

We did a photobook after our December trip and I loved how it came out! I totally agree that it is worth the money for me to not have to spend several non-existant weeks living with the mess of scrapbooking, carving out an hour here or there to work on it and honestly never really complete the dang thing! Now I have a beautiful book that includes all the important bits from our trip! Sorry about the misspelling! But enjoy your book!

Sorry about your book! You're a good sport to be laughing about it already. I'm sure I'd still be sulking for a few more days at least. :rotfl:

I agree, the books turn out so nice! I'm glad you're able to laugh about it, though. :) I also made TWO typos in ours, and I didn't recover so quickly lol!

I've made 2 off of another site for free (I had special codes). I love them. I'm thinking that this time we go to Disney I might just do that with the pics from there because I still havent scrapped but 2 pages since returning.

Thanks everyone - Glad to hear I'm not the only one making errors!:lmao:
I was on the verge of tears when I first opened it, but surprisingly, I recovered quickly. It's still beautiful and I love it!
Just can't believe I missed that typo! On the cover, no less! Oh, well!

My sister did a calendar and made copies for gifts and spelled her DD's name wrong on everypage!! Darn that copy and paste function - LOL!!!

She was very embarrassed!!:rotfl:

I made 2 books of our last trip (one from the photopass site and one from another place) and I wrote Spaceship Earth on a picture when it really was Mission Space...;) So, your not alone.

:rotfl: I can only laugh to keep from crying, because I can so imagine doing this very thing myself! I am currently working on a photobook and I'm constantly checking EVERYTHING - I'm so anal. Thanks for the reminder to check our names. :rolleyes1

BTW - which style did you use for your layouts? I've been using the "fab 5" but wondering if the classic characters might be a little bit more subtle so as not to overshadow the pictures themselves. I'm a scrapbooker at heart who just doesn't have the time anymore to do it, but even when scrapbooking I always like for the pictures to really stand out, not the paper or embellishments.

Also - how the heck do you change the font? I've searched under help but can't find any info.

FLAgirl73-
I would usually scrapbook the trip, but it is time consuming and this book looked just so great. I am very pleased with how it turned out!

I used all of the different background pages in our book. I chose depending on the park, dining location, etc. Used the fun in the sun pages for swimming and boating pics, also for meeting Ariel, the fab 5 for most of MK and for Chef Mickey's, I used the vintage pages for Epcot, and the elegant (the beige one with a very subtle vine patern) for Animal Kingdom, princess pages for CRT, etc. I made sure that the two facing pages matched, but other than that I mixed it up!
I was not able to change the font, however each style of page has it's own font, so our book ended up with many different fonts.

Sorry to hear about your typo- glad you are able to laugh. Question about the photopass book--how many pages do you get?

thanks

I went with the professional book so I could use our photopass pics. I ended up with 42 pages! What pushed me over the limit was I decided to use a few of the nicer shots as solo pics. With the borders, pictures and then text, some of the photos can be small.
Much longer than I anticipated, but it's tough to stop adding pages! I don't feel that it is too long, though! It end up costing $113.

I just ordered our photobook a few days ago! :cool1:

I mixed up the backgrounds too. For MK I did classic characters, Epcot I did Fab 5, DTD, AK, DS and our resort I did fun in the sun, our princess breakfast I used the princess background. For a full page picture it's fun to put a border on it and then lay it out without a background.

I did the same thing except on my daughter's birth certificate - cost $75 dollars to fix it. duh:eek:
What photo book did you do? I don't know whether to do shutterfly, Blurb, the Disneybook:confused3

I made a photo book and put the wrong year on it. I checked it over and over before sending it in. I too was like :scared1: when I opened it.

I also started a scrap book in 2007 and still haven't finished.

Does anyone have a photo of the photopass book? I've not seen one before. My MIL made a book online (maybe Snapfish) and I'm wondering if they are anything like those.

Foundmyprince - I am currently working on my Disney photobook and I've also created books on Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc. and can tell you that the process is very similar. :thumbsup2
