I only had one opportunity from the monorail to snap photos showing the current stage of the BLT construction. This was on Thursday of last week. Hope this helps anyone who is interested.

Great pictures!! The worker leaning on the rails is really brave. I could never lean out like that!!!

Thanks for the update. The BLT announcement will probably determine if we get to be DVC owners or not, so I'm anxiously awaiting news!

Any guesses on what that circular structure on top is going to be?

Maybe just something mechanical like the top of the elevator shaft, or air conditioning units, or something similiar.

Or maybe something neat like an observation deck for fireworks?

I remember when BWV was under construction, initial promotional materials indicated that 'the Attic' was going to be a members lounge, especially for viewing fireworks. By the time they started selling though, that idea was scrapped and it became a lounge for private functions only.

think someone found the paper - it is going to a lounge

the 'Top of the World' - remember the first name of CG - is coming back.

it is only a lounge not a restuarant.

so we can have a drink and watch wishes.

that is right now.

watch the management at Disney (not DVC) do it like 'attic' - and decide to rent it out only.

did you ever go a price list for the Attic - I think it like $25,000 and up to rent it. higher prices for the fireworks times. there excuse there were too many DVC members who would want to use it. and since everyone couldn't use it - no one could.

don't think that was the reason - the management saw it was a great place for the fireworks - and why give it to us for free - when they could rent it and make money.

so although would love the lounge - despite the papers - don't count on it.

the BW was complete and had guests staying - before Disney changed it's mind...

Boy that really is a monster. Thanks. Have any more?

I wished I had more, but I made a special effort to ride the resort monorail on our last day just so I could get these. One side note (and I very well may be off in my directions), I think those rooms on the left side of the photo, on the end of the "C" will have the view of the MK.

Great pics, OP! Thank you for making the effort to give us an update! The clarity of these pics is great.

Wow, that worker sitting on that bar like that made my stomach jump a little.......maybe he was on the second floor..............

Thanks for the pix!:thumbsup2

I am in "The World" right now and have chatted with a number of CM's about the BLT. The reaction right now is universal...denials with "wink, wink" attitudes.

My favorite response though was when one CM called it "Disney's Worst Kept Secret"! :rotfl2:

Holy smokes! I can't believe how far along it is. Thanks for posting.

One comment I'd add on the BLT subject is that I had seen many of the pictures online as it has progressed and saw the excavated lot last summer but when I was there last week I was amazed at the actual size of the structure. Don't get me wrong, in the pictures it looks big but in person it looks enormous. Can't wait to stay there dvc or non - It's going to be awesome!!!

non-dvc - boy don't have the money to stay there.

it would cost a small fortune. would rather buy DVC (despite it costing slightly more) than pay cash for these type of villa.

First... i love your tag... Vacations are getaways from vacation planning!

The guy should be working and not leaning!!! No wonder it's taking so long!! (Also if you look in the first pic you can see them to the right about 4/5 floors ups. :scared1:

Nice to see some sheetrock going up :thumbsup2

I think I might be the only person who thought it looked smaller than I'd imagined it'd be. When we went by it a few weeks ago I was expecting much more. It looked shorter and smaller than the CR to me.

No, there's two of us. When I sat on the 4th floor observation deck at CR last April and studied the structure I was a bit underwhelmed too. It seems smaller than the main hotel. Photos that show up online are usually blow-ups anyway. Size is deceptive.

Now the monstrosity they're building in the shadow of Oriole Park here in Baltimore... that's HUGE. Ugly and huge. Blocks the Bromo Seltzer Tower too. I hate the thing. At least BLT looks like it'll blend in with the surroundings better. But the view from the monorail facing rooms looks to be ugly to me. Just parking lot and monorail track. I think I'd prefer lake view.
