Who knew there was a 25 photo limit per thread? ;)

After that (taking photos at Beach Club while DW napped) it was about time to head back to Beach Club and get ready for a Hollywood Brown Derby dinner. We arrived a little late and had to wait for a table which meant we would be leaving the park over an hour after closing time. Since we already missed the last boat there was no reason to hurry so we took a bunch of photos around Hollywood Boulevard.

and this one to show that yes, I will lay down in the street to get a photo:

Since we were so late the bus dispatcher sent for the “special bus”, bringing back school day memories! ;) We arrived back at Beach Club just in time to see the last of “Illuminations” and take a few more photos before calling it a night. These 5:00am mornings are rough!

Love your shots from the grounds of Beach Club! You should be able to post 25 pictures per post, not per thread, for what it's worth.

One bit of advice - and as I say this, I have to also say I really love your realistic HDR processing - I would consider layering one image on top of the HDR image after you process it, adding a layer mask to the image, and 'brushing through the highlights along with any areas where things might've moved (water, people, etc.). This way, you don't have a person that moved between shots several times in the frame, and you don't have water (that moved) looking odd. As for the highlights, I think HDR processing often gives them a 'grey' or unrealistic look.

Just my two cents - can't wait to read the rest!

You're a brave soul, Bob. I think I'd probably just lay my camera on the ground and take my chances rather than lay on the ground---especially in a skirt. :rotfl2:

For what it's worth---I really like the "ghosting" of moving objects that your HDR photos have. It proves they're real HDR rather than just tone-mapped cheating! ;)

Thanks for your inputs! :)
For whatever reason, I like the "ghosting" too (DW does not like it). It is easy enough to mask out and I sure don't have any problem with changing *anything* in an image yet I prefer to leave these artifacts in. As sometimes happens, maybe my style will change someday and I will redo the images.

DW and I took a lot more HDR sets this trip. I really see no reason not to as long as we have the time and memory cards, at the very least we have three exposures to choose from and at best we can create a HDR. In most cases they really shine when compared to a single exposure.
