Sunday at Magic Kingdom - the short version
Another nice morning at WDW! The forecast was for 40-60% chance of rain each day but we never got wet.
We were running a little late today but we were not too concerned, making rope drop is more important when we have little ones with us (gotta get to Dumbo).
The MK bus pulled away as we approached the bus stop but another one was there soon, the bus service was not bad on this trip. What will I complain about on the DVC survey?
Sunday is typically a light day at MK and sure enough it was not busy, even 30 minutes after rope drop.
The Halloween decorations are up, adding a festive touch to the entrance and Main Street USA.
The trolley dancers were out on Main Street.
On our way to Fantasyland we came across Tanner the PhotoPass photographer, he was not very busy so we took his photo after he took ours.
Now that's a Peter Pan pose!
Since we arrived late we got FPs for Winnie the Pooh instead of waiting 20 minutes, then headed to Peter Pan. We also got the bonus Philharmagic FP, this great movie has never been crowded when we are there, does anyone ever need a FP? Pinocchios Village Haus was getting some work done but the covering looked almost as good as the building, WDW rarely disappoints!
The magic is everywhere, this fellow mopping the walkways is proof of that!
After riding Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion our FPs were good to go so we went on Pooh, maybe the only couple without children there!
By now it was time for our 11:00 at Plaza (great sandwiches), on the way back we saw Tanner, still no customers! Funny, the high pitched noises of little ones that seems so out of place at Hollywood Brown Derby seems to be just right at Plaza!
The Main Street Hat Lady (?) showed up to present a birthday award to a guest.
The trees have really grown in over the years at the little lunch spot outside Plaza.
We saw Philharmagic then wandered over to ride TTA, where work still continues on Space Mountain.
After TTA I *needed* a Mickey Ice Cream Bar (and DW wanted an ice cream sandwich) so we got some treats for our walk to Toontown. We were thinking of riding Thunder Mountain and took the train to Frontierland but DW was getting overheated so we ducked into Pecos Bills for some water and A/C. After that a ride with some Pirates sounded good!
By now it was time for the parade (what time is the 3:00 parade?) and we found a very uncrowded Main Street from which to take photos.
After that we headed back to Beach Club Villas to freshen up for our dinner at Flying Fish.
It is not much farther to walk to BW instead of to the Yacht/Beach boat dock so we walked to Flying Fish. The dress guidelines really should be adhered to more, thats all I will say about that. Jay is one of our favorite servers at FF and he was working that evening, we had a great meal and great service. If you go there ask to see photos of Jays children, so cute! We do miss Bradlee who always showed us photos of his cats.
I love the drawing of the horsey roller coaster thing, did they not have lawyers back then?
The sunset over Boardwalk was spectacular and of course my tripod was back in our room so we used trashpods, DVC cartpods, benchpods, whatever.
After the sun set the Buskers were out and giving funny performances with their assistants.
As we wandered back across the lake (on the boat) we stopped to watch some of the movie on the beach, then went back to our room to sit on the verandah and sip some wine. What a nice evening!
