Photo storage sites?

I have used Photobucket for many years to store my photos and be able to link on these boards. However, they have gone WAY down in the ease and reliability of use. Whenever I sign on lately, my computer slows way down and lots of pop-up ads. :furious:

I literally have to clean out my cookies and restart my computer after only 15 min on Photobucket. Any good suggestions for a free and easy photo upload site that is not full of spyware and spam?

Thanks!

Ive used Flickr before. They are usually pretty solid. However, right now I am using photobucket as its the most user friendly and can set up rights protection.

Thank you GolfingLawyer....they certainly are user-friendly I agree. I did see an option after I posted to go "ad-free" for a small fee. Might have to do that. The site is very slowed down compared to a year ago.

Take a look at Zenfolio.

I take that back, they don't offer a free server any longer.

:goodvibes

Photobucket is actually terrible. Flickr has rights protection as mentioned before, has matured since 2008 when it was coded up by some of the most intelligent and aware coders the world had at the time, and currently has Yahoo backing it (or actually owning, but they get the servers at least).

Photobucket on the other hand has a non-intuitive interface and a generally annoying user experience in my opinion.

There's a tonne of other featuers on flickr that pro members get too such as sharing in original resolution. But they store your photos in original regardless, and you get a terabyte of free storage.

I'd say the only drawback is you have to register now, through bloody Yahoo - which I don't like.

I had a Flickr account forever (even a paid account for a few years) and let it go after Yahoo purchased them because I didn't want to sign up for a Yahoo account. But I still need something and will most likely suck it up and do it.

Another vote for flickr.... if you want your images to be seen... flickr images (especially tagged ones) are found on google.

fyi... flickr is now FREE and no longer limits you to 200 images. Flickr also has a strong forum for photography discussions.
