Photo Sharing: Ultra Wide Angle

It's been awhile since I last posted. 10 - 12 hour days, seven days a week for eight straight weeks leaves little time for fun. Plus, we're selling our house and buying a new one. So glad, to be done with the crazy busy stretch at work. Here's a new shot. It's a church in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Nice shot.

I think you should put the link to your blog back up. Some of us enjoy going there and seeing what you're up to.

Thanks for the kind words. Everyone is welcome to visit my blog if they wish. However, I will not put my link back up unless a moderator approves it. That's because it was a moderator who told me to remove it.

You see, I missed a fine point in the terms for this forum. Links to personal blogs are fine PROVIDING that they put a reciprocal link back to DIS in a prominent position on the blog.

I don't think that's a fair trade. A link to my blog in a signature is not a prominent promotion of my site, so why should I have to put DIS in a prominent position to promote this site?

However, this is their site and they make the rules for the playground. If I don't like them, I have the choice to leave. If I stay, I'll abide by the rules. I must admit they seem to be rather selective about enforcing the rules, though.

Oddly enough, it was your blog comment that actually compelled me to surf over and have a look.

I enjoyed the blog, and incorrectly assumed the link was removed on account of some of the material being a bit racy for a DIS site.

Keep posting photos, they are a joy to see.

Regards,

Boris

Thanks. Truth be told, I do have a few photos of naked horses on the blog.

Love your pic. Also I can feel for you as I am doing the same thing with work and houses.

This picture clashes with your username :rotfl:

What an awesome photo!! What lens did you use for this? I love the way you've framed it - it's beautiful

I agree. It's a beautiful shot. The framing is perfect.

Thanks,

For my 50th birthday last week, I got a Canon 8-15m; and a trip to Disney. Lens is awesome.

This was actually a grab shot on the run. I have been playing with handheld HDR where you drop the Raw file to a lower res and shoot a bracket set of three. Family was leaving Harambe at 7pm taking the long way out and a quickly snapped 3 sets.

So that was shot at 8 mm? It almost looks like a fish eye. What I really like about that pic is, knowing how crazy busy AK can get, looking at that scene as you captured it, it gives the impression that no man has ever walked there before - a sort of out of this world feel to it. I really like it!

And happy brithday, even though late :)

Thanks! My wife tells me 50 is the new 49:-)

Happy late B-day Chuck. My wife would think I'm crazy if I asked for a lens for my birthday. She want to know why I have more than one. Many times she's grabbed my camera and wondered why the lens won't zoom. I usually have primes mounted. She still doesn't understand why I have lenses that don't zoom. LOL!
