photo sharing: Spectromagic!

We always like to arrive on Fridays so we can do E-Night at MK. We had 10 wonderful days at "The World". The weather was great! Back to work today & rainy, Ohio weather!

Here are a few pix from Spectro Magic:

Thanks for sharing! Spectromagic is my favorite parade. I am going to miss it this summer!

Another who's favorite parade is spectro.

thanks for posting, it has been too long since I've been.

Pretty good shots (you have the S5, correct?). It looks like you were standing on the porch of Tony's/Kodak picture store. They look like the ones I took a few weeks ago.

Yes, I still have the S5. I like the optical zoom and the ability to video tape with it.

My shots of Spectro Magic were taken closer to the castle, just a little way up from the ice cream parlor. I wanted to try to get the castle in the background as the parade floats went by, I did have a tripod.

TuffCookie, if you use a tripod, that only helps with a long shutter speed. Which is what you need for a dark scene. Except when the objects in the scene are moving... like a parade or like the musical theater I shoot.

You have to go partially manual settings. Crank up the ISO to the highest level and set the aperture to the lowest number (its goofy - a small aperture number means the largest hole, to let light in). You even have to do that with a $1000 camera and a $1000 lens to get clear shots of the dark parades.

Here are a few I took in December. ISO 1600 f/5 1/25sec:

I took each photo in this set from the same location.

Here's another in honor of Spectro's last day for a while:
