That one's mine. I picked up the kit and the Zeiss 55. I just got it before the weekend and used it at Houmas House Plantation. I came home with few good shots. The sun was really bright.

Thought you didn't like the A7 and loved your fuji set up?
What changed your mind?

I loved the Fuji and the Sony! They both have their pluses and minuses. The focus and Jpegs on the Fuji are way better. The high ISO and DOF are better on the A7.The a has that 3d pop from FF.

So keeping both?

I always found DOF control adequate on aps-c. If anything, you need to be careful not to get too narrow on ff.

great shots! Are those JPGs straight from the camera?

Yep - all JPGs, just cropped a bit and resized. Once I played around with the settings a bit, I got the JPGs coming out of the camera the way I like them, so I can avoid post processing...despite the different sensor, the colors and exposures are similar to my 5N in look and feel - just more resolution and more cropping room!

Here's the 100% viewable crop of the iguana:

I was shooting him from about 7 feet away...right at the lens' minimum focus distance.

What lens were you using? Amazing shots.

Welcome back Harry :thumbsup2

Just got home from our trip and I can honestly say I am never going to make that drive ever again :lmao: What a long trip that was. But on the plus side I got a ton of pictures to go through still so that should keep me busy for the coming weeks.

Great shots everyone :cool1:

Thanks - those are all with the SEL55-210mm lens. If you get a good copy, it can hit above its weight class - it mostly just wants good light as it's not the fastest lens in the world aperture-wise...but plenty sharp and detailed in Florida's sunshine!

Guess you got a good copy. Those are great results for any lens, especially a "kit" telephoto.

I LOVE all the sony love around here! I started in digital with an a300 a long time ago and finally upgraded recently to the a77 and I love it. It's totally different but I love sony.
I'm due for a few better lenses. I've used some vintage minolta and loved it. Can't wait to see more photos and hopefully share some of mine! :)
