Are the owls allowed to roam the park? Or is this a local orlando owl that was there. Im speaking of the owl the cast member's have at flights of wonder. This particular one does not look like a AK specific one.
How cool is that though to run into one.
WHat area was this taken in?

While at the AK one of the local residents stopped in for a visit:

Apparently, this was a local owl that found his way in. The only reason I even saw him (and was able to get a few shots of him) was because there was a CM pointing him out to people, and who talked a little bit about him. He's the one that told us that occasionally some local birds make their way into the park (including these owls).
If I remember correctly, I believe this was near the Flame Tree Barbecue area (at least that is where my next picture was taken, so I'm assuming that is where I found this guy).

I travel occasionally a bit north from my home in Mass to the mountains and woods of Vermont and Maine, on a mission to encounter an owl or two but have yet to see a single owl to get a photograph of. Its like a personal thing to experience one in the wild....Like a have to do thing....
And of all places theres a random one spotted in florida.
hehe..thanks for sharing

Hey everyone...I JUST discovered this thread. Amazing what can happen when you venture outside the Disneyland forum.

I'm a fairly new Nikon user but would love to join in here if you're accepting new posters. What a neat thread!

Thanks.

Start posting away! We look forward to seeing what shots you are going to put up.
There are all levels of photographers here. There are some experts / professionals who will blow you away with many of their shots, there are some photo hobbyists who love to show some of the cool things they shot over the weekend, and then there are those of us who are simply trying to soak up as much as possible, occasionally adding a half-decent picture or two. So no matter where you might fit in, all shots are more than welcome. :thumbsup2

Thank you! :)

I look forward to seeing everyone's work. Like I said, I'm a total beginner, but I'm having a blast learning and playing around. I welcome all feedback.

I shot this yesterday...for some reason, this fall Seattle has had crazy huge spiders all over the place. I apologize in advance if there are any arachnophobes that may find this unsettling. To be honest, I'm scared to death of spiders myself, but they're pretty fascinating and they hold still for the most part, so I thought I'd try to capture a few. :)
