Photo Sharing - Nikon Part 2

This trip I tried night photography for the first time. I'm just starting to use the manual settings and I was pretty happy with my first attempts.

last night Jupiter appeared to be almost touching the moon. I was out shopping and saw it and by the time I got home it was farther away. Here is the shot I got....still trying to work out my moon shots...

Great shot Denise!!!
What settings and lens did you use?

Thanks...I noticed no information was on the photo...will have to see why.

I used my 70-300 lens at 300mm
ISO 100
1/250 sec at 5.6
I did some cropping as well in LR

I'm sure those settings are all the wrong ones for moon shots...
It was my first shot too. I, of course, had the camera on my tripod and was shooting almost straight up in the air. No way to look through the view finder so I had it on live view and I was sitting on the ground attempting to look at it. I have a remote to shoot with and used that as well.
All the other photos didn't come out as good. I played with the settings for each shot....
I need more practice....:)
