Photo Sharing: Landscapes, Seascapes, and more

I took these at a local park in November of last year. IR filter on the lens of my tripod-mounted Nikon DSLR.

IR lens filters worked with film camera but are not really useful on modern digital cameras.

Most digital cameras have an IR blocking filter attached directly to the sensor. The IR blocking filter can be removed from the sensor by a profession but is not easily replaced. Some photographers do this to an old camera and reserve it specifically for IR photography.

Canon sells a special line of astrophotography cameras without IR blocking filter.
