As suggested in another thread, let's share what our cameras can do at high ISO.

ISO 6400 jpeg on the RX100:

ISO 10,000 on the A99:

ISO 12,800 on the A99 (I believe with Topaz DeNoise IIRC)

Compare that to the ugly 12,800 on the Sony A55:

Another 12,800 on the A99:

One more 12,800 on the A99 with some Denoise..

Great pics.. but hey now... ISO 3200? I know you're a newbie to fullframe.. but that's like a professional race car going 60 mph and calling it "fast" ;)

I guess im still in the mindset of 3200 being extremely high lol. Ill keep it to higher than 3200 from here on out

I was flipping through my photostream for purposes of this thread, and it really impressed upon me the difference between the A55 and the A99. I was like, "oh... that's a high ISO pic.. wow, it's only 1600 from the A55"

Meanwhile, a properly exposed 6400 on the A99..

These are old ones but all I have uploaded at the moment. None of my dark ride Disney shots are above ISO 3200.

50D ISO 12800. It's one of the expanded "fake" ISO settings that was still cleaner than bumping up 2 stops in post.

This is ISO 6400 on the 6D and yeah, it's too clean to be fair. :)

i never go above 1600 on my D7000. Call it old school. Thats why i invested in 1.4 lenses.

I'm the same! I think it's because I'm still in some ways in good ol' Nikon D40 mindset, which was my first, albeit for a very brief time, but it didn't do well with anything much above 800. I think 3200 is the highest I have gone and I have to keep reminding myself that ISO1000 is actually ok :rotfl:

Interesting thread. It helps that people are posting what camera they used as well as obviously this has considerable bearing on the final result. Very cool idea :thumbsup2
