Photo Sharing; HDR

It's the Photoshop I'm missing then .... and probably a lot of skill to be developed on my part too :) Oh and currently 'missing' Lightroom now that I've broken it :rolleyes1

Do you do some work on the images in LR first before you export to P/Pro, or do you just export from there and then back in to finish it off? Sorry about all the questions.

I do edit a bit to get a nice set of base images in LR to send over to Photomatix. Then I save as a 16bit tiff and open in Photoshop.

I've been curious about HDR for some time now and have been meaning to try my hand at it. I have to say, if I can get my pictures to come out half as good as rdunative, wbeem, and mrcricket, I'll be very happy. When I think of how an HDR picture should look in my head and then look at pictures done by you three, your pictures are exactly how I think HDR should be done. I know that a lot of people are being creative, trying different things out, have a different vision of HDR than the one that I have, or are just experimenting and learning on their own, but to me there seems to be a fine line that can be crossed when an image goes the over saturated/contrast route.

I'm still learning my Sony a57 and it has built in HDR. I know a majority of you do your own HDR in post process. How does in-camera HDR differ from post processing?

With post processing you control what you want. With in camera processing, the camera decides what it thinks you want.
