Thanks David
I used my Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS lens @ 200mm, f/5.6, 1/320, ISO 100, in AI Servo + center focal point and burst mode because the butterfly was moving fast and it was slightly windy.

Great pic :thumbsup2 I am practicing on nature and landscape photos. If I may ask what lens did you use and what were your settings?

Thanks,

David

Great shots! I was just wondering what focus and metering modes that you use to get such great foucs on the whole subject?

Michelle, were you asking me??!! :confused3 If so - thanks!! :flower3:
The exif for my shot above is - shutter speed 1/100, Aperture f/5.6, ISO 200, using my Sigma 10-20mm lens. I am just starting to actually understand all of this stuff!! It takes a while for it to sink into my addled brain! Most of what I do is trial and lots and lots of error! ;)

I am also loving all the other shots - thanks to everyone. PrincessinOz - where are you going to get the snake and spider pics???!! :scared1: (Great shots, though!)

Heather - At the Melbourne Zoo....shooting through glass and practising manual focussing through wire cages!

I had a true challenge at my son's game on Friday. It was incredibly hazy that night combined with the lights on the field being at a weird angle AND the fact that as a parent I'm not allowed down on the field and have to shoot from the stands which are quite a distance away.

Despite the challenges and my lack of experience, I really love this picture. My son (in red) had put up with the other player throughout the game and finally went after him with a vengeance. This picture captured my son hitting the other player so hard that he went up in the air before hitting the ground.
