A calmer day on Cape Hatteras. Isabel took a chunk of this pier. We will see what is left after Irene. Good thoughts to those in her path.

Thanks! Though many thought she would fall, this pier stood strong in the face of Irene. It has been slowly crumbling but not this time.

Sadly, residents are just today being allowed to return to their homes or what is left. Many have lost homes and businesses and are cut-off from the mainland due to two new inlets that destroyed the road. Keep them in your prayers as they move forward.
