My turning-13-on-our-trip daughter is a budding photographer. She takes great photos, even with just her iPhone. I gave her my 10 year old Canon DSLR so she can up her game a bit. We are going to WDW for two weeks in December and she has asked for some time in the parks to just take photos. I would love to give her a scavenger hunt of photos to try to take, but not the typical tourist photos. She loves taking artsy shots and I'd love to just give her some starter directions.

TIA!

I began my photography hobby in WDW 2 years ago. World Showcase has lots of nooks for great pictures through arches, water and waterfalls. She could experiment with different settings to achieve that perfect water shot. I also liked DHS for shooting the Indy Jones and Lights, Motors, Action shows, experimenting with different shutter speeds.

@kangaand2roos! I think you and I Dis-Met in May 2010! How are you and the 2 roos?

What sort of scavenger hunt items are you looking for?

Disney photography challenges can include firework trails, dark ride shots (IaSW is one of the easier ones; and HM and PP can be more challenging because they are harder), close up details with shallow depth of field etc.
What sort of skill level does she have?
And how many items do you want on the list?

So nice to hear from you! My 2 Roos are almost 13 and almost 11!! Crazy how fast they grow! They don't fit in my pouch anymore!!

After posting this thread, I noticed the 2015 challenge below and decided that it meets her needs. She is brand spanking new to the dslr. So far she has been playing with some of the automatic settings, but I hope we have time before December to play with manual. It's been a long time for me, but I think it will come back!

It's crazy how they grow. My DS is now 15; and we're looking at less than a year before he can start learning how to drive a car. Crazy!!!

Are you talking about the 2015 Scavenger hunt? There should be plenty of items there for her to go find and seek. Have fun with it all! And I hope she enjoys the camera learning journey.
And enjoy your trip to WDW.

Fingers crossed! I'm less than a year out from neck surgery!

I can't imagine my kiddos driving, but I guess it'll be all too soon!
