I am going to DLP for first time this May. :yay: I am traveling to Paris with my 60 somethin DP's and my 30 sumthin DS. I am 35. I loooove Disney and am not ashamed at all to be going at this late age and with no children.

However, the rest of my family can't imagine "wasting" a day in DLP so I will be going by myself. I do not have a problem with that and even enjoy the thought of the solo adventure.

My biggest worry though, is the photos! Without anyone traveling with me, how am I going to get great photos of myself with characters and doing things like riding Dumbo?!?!? :scared:

Are there cast members that go around with the characters who are able to take photos, or are they strictly there to help with crowd control etc? Are they allowed to take pictures?

Any help or info you can give me is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hi there Lunamum,
i am 10 years older than you and i am the more excited about DLRP in my family, my two sons of 21 and 14 are quite happy to go there but my partner does just because i love it :hippie:
Cast members are usually happy to take pictures of people with the characters, i cant see how they could take a photo of you on Dumbo or any other ride anyway :confused3
Any chance you can convince your partner he should come with you just to make you happy:love: ???

Hi lunamum and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

At the character meet n greets you'll have no problem asking a CM to take a photograph with your camera. DLP also have characters that will appear at certain parks of the park. Although a CM is there as a minder they often stand to the side so it might not be so easy to get a photograph in this situation.

I agree about the attractions. In this case it will be difficult to get a photogarph of yourself :)

if you go to one of the character meet & greet points where they come out at set times & places then 90% of the time there will be one of the professional photographers there taking pictures with their cameras to try & get you to buy them, but if you ask them they will also take one on your camera for you. also all the characters have at least one cast member minding them who can also take ur pics for you if you ask them. you can normally spot them as they normally wear red dungarees.as for the rides, i don't think you'll be able to get anyone to takes pics for you

thanks to everyone who replied and answered my question. :lovestruc

It is great to know that there will be people around to ask to take my picture while i visit with the characters.

I guess i will just be taking a lot of self portraits while i am on the rides. Though I have to admit most of my self-portraits end up looking goofy because I never end up being able to angle my camera the right way. I will probably just end up with a picture of the top of my head next to dumbo's butt!

Some characters have regular photo spots with a Disney castmember photographer on stand by. He will snap you a souvenier photo, available to buy at the gift shop, and a pic on your own camera. Below are the characters and locations.

Mickey Mouse can be found near Casey's Corner and at Toon Town Plaza.

Minnie Mouse can be found at The Storybook Store/Liberty Arcade and on Place des Frères Lumière, Front Lot.

Disney Princesses at Le Théâtre du Château.

Woody or Jessie at Woody's Roundup Village.

Sulley at Monsters Inc. Scene, Toon Studio.

Rataouille stars at Toon Studio Plaza

I know the feeling i tried taking pictures of me and my daughter on dumbo and all you can see is a bit of snot that came flying out my nose in the picture :rotfl:
