I'm looking for recommendations on photo printing. I normally print at my local Walgreens, but lately I'm not real happy with how the photos turn out. The colors just don't seem to be very vibrant. I asked over at the photography board and got a few answers - most suggested mpix, but they're a little pricey. Any suggestions?

I have had good luck at CVS locally. Walmart has been good and target also.

If I don't need them immediately, I have utilized Winkflash and Snapfish.

I have also utilized artscow and love them... however, they are overseas (Hong Kong) so it takes about 2 weeks to get the photos... but I love them...

The Walgreens could need to change their developer fluid. When it's fresh, they're spot on. Try a different Walgreens, if you have another one pretty close.

Hi there~ I recently had a problem with Walgreens during one of their promotions. I ordered prints as TRUE DIGITAL... they were VERY dark. The manager offered to redo them for me. I received a call from the person who does the printing and she suggested that I order 4 X 6 not true digital because it is different paper. I reordered and they were GREAT. not sure if the paper could be causing your problem!! : )

I thought it was just me... I tried the true digital and didn't like the way they looked.. I switched back to 4 x 6...

I use my local Target and LOVE the way they come out. In the past I had a similar problem with Wal-Mart and Kodakgallery.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just one batch of pictures, it's been kind of an ongoing problem for the past year. We do have a different Walgreens across town. Maybe I should try them. Assumed all Walgreens, especially two in a relatively small town, would be the same.

I'm doing 4x6 so that's not my problem, but thanks for the suggestion.

I agree with artscow. I love the pics. I have never had a big problem other than the delivery time. The longest it has taken was 3 full weeks. I just order without any expectations of getting them really soon. But when you sign up, you get tons of freebies. 100 4x6 every month for 8 months....50 5x7's every month for a couple of months....tons of photo items for free. The shipping is very comparable to Snapfish too.
I order my 100 pics every month and my total for shipping is about $6. A little more if I order 5x7's.
I love the quality too. Never a bad pic....unless i took it...lol

I used Walgreens during their last promo and was very disappointed...by far the worst developing I have seen. I am very happy with Costco and Shutterfly especially, but have had good results with Snapfish too. I also use the Creative Memories digital center a lot and have never been disappointed, but I'll admit I go with where I can get the best deal. Archivers had a deal with Shutterfly that if you bought over $50 you got 50 free prints (45 4x6, 1 8x10 and 4 5x7) - that was FABULOUS! Because I spend kindof a lot of money at Archivers....but don't tell my husband!!!

I started using Ritz. They are awesome and have the best software. Plus, they have all the means to convert old floppies, VCR tapes, scan old pics, etc.

I don't know how many stores there are nationwide, but hopefully there is one nearby for you! Good luck!

I use Sam's. I am a last minute printer, so I love getting them quick. My only issue is that it takes 2 hours to get your pictures from the Sam's One Hour Photo Center, but they do not seem to care about that. One time I was particularly annoyed with it and specifically asked the worker why it took 2 hours at a one hour photo. He had no answers for me. :upsidedow

well i have an online solution for you, try "snapfish" i think they are the best for photo printing ..

I love to get my pics from scrapbookpictures.com.

You have to get them mailed to you, so it takes a bit of time. However, the quality is great. Also, the size options are wonderful for scrapbooking. If you plan your layouts ahead, you can order the exact sizes you want (lots of squares - 2 x 2 on up in full inch size) plus all the other sizes you can imagine.

I find since I only order the prints I want to scrapbook, I actually save money vs. printing everything and sorting thru after.
