For my Christmas present, I get to get a new printer or scanner printer... I want one that prints good pictures but doesn't break the budget... any suggestions?
Thanks!

We got the HP psc 2110 all-in-one(printer, scanner, copier) and love it:D ! Buy the optional photo ink cartridge and use for pics. Easy to feed in 4x6 or whatever photo paper you use.

Any model of HP printer that features photoret III technology will print amazing pictures. We have a 970 and it prints perfect pictures. I think all the 900 series ones do.

I personally would hesitate buying a printer/scanner all in one especially if you are interested in printing pictures.

I bought an EPSON 825 printer for 179 dollars that does a good job on photos. The ink cartridges which you go through pretty quickly are a little less expensive than the HP cartridges.

I would buy the scanner separately, but I have no first hand knowledge about how good the combos print photos.

My aunt was also warned against buying an All-In-one printer, but bought one anyway. I don't know the specific model, but it was an HP. She copied a black & white photo for me the other night on photo paper. I was amazed at the printout. It looked like it had been developed from a negative. Amazing! :D

We too were skeptical and did not want the all in one. That is until the salesman showed us that the HP printer we were looking at was identical to the printer portion of the all in one. We needed a new scanner and have not regretted it yet. Our pics are better than those we get developed:D ! Go to a place like Best Buy and run some samples.

We have the HP932 printer and have no complaints, I've printed out hundreds of pics with it from digital camera it does a good job. I'll bet the hp7350 is a good one. (looks good too)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good scanner. We have a umax Astra 3450 and are not happy with it.
