I have been to DL twice and this is a new term to me. Can you tell me what this is..Please and thx

check out http://www.stitchkingdom.com/photopass - i wrote it

it's heavily slanted to WDW and i don't know how much applies to DLR since i haven't been there since they added it so i don't know what at WDW is available at DLR but hopefully someone can help clarify the differences for you, but that should give a core understanding of it (hopefully)

Can't speak for WDW since I've not been there. It's totally catching on in CA though and we are loving it!!! BIG hit!

I'm a photopass junkie and have a hard time NOT paying for pics of my daughter. Great photographs generally and they are all over the park - actually have even more this week than just one and a half months ago. Almost at every character meeting place, nice backdrops, and sometimes just hanging out in different locations. Just ask a photographer to take your pic and ask for a card when you see one of them. You should keep that card and hand it to each photographer you visit during your stay - you can have more than one and add it to your account too. Within 24 hours the photos are downloaded into the account (number on your card.) Then you go to www.disneyphotopass.com and register - you can see your pics there (you can see them at the park too if you wish) and decide if you want to edit/add borders/etc and purchase any size you want.

REALLY cool and we got some awesome pics this past trip - the hub is my favorite location. Highly recommend it!!!

Just be sure to take your own pictures as well with your camera, don't rely only on the photpass for those great Castle shots, and Character shots. We didn't get all over our pictures on our photo pass, in front of the tree and Castle at night with all the beautiful Christmas lights. They were the only too shots that were a MUST have for us.

So with that in mind. They are great otherwise. They have a lot of borders, and printing services with cards, and such. as well as loading your own pictures to add the borders on it too.

Thank you for the response. Is it a very expensive offering?

its like $99 for a CD i think, but if you find someone else there that will also plan to get the CD, you can use the same pass, get one CD and split the pictures and the price.

Well, if you only want one or two prints, the 5x7 prints are something like 12 or 15 dollars... If you want to buy the CD, but have no editing abilities and no cute borders, you can buy it AT the park for 59.95.

If want that CD and two 5x7s, I believe that it is something like 74.95 AT the park.

If you wish to pre-order the CD, that's 99.95 and will include the shipping of the CD(s) (depending on how many pictures you end up with, lol) to you. That CD allows you to crop, zoom, and add things like appropriate signatures to any pictures the Photopass photographers take of you/family with characters, gives you little borders, the year, that sort of thing. Each time you edit a picture, it keeps that original picture and adds that edited pictures, so one picture can turn into many, many pictures...

If you don't pre-order but want the ability to edit the pictures on a CD, then you can buy it after the fact for 124.95, if I'm remembering correctly.

Of course, to have pictures TAKEN is free free free! See a Photopass photographer (they are fairly obvious), approach them, tell them you want a picture taken and don't yet have a card...they will give take your picture and get a card, scan it, and hand the card to you. Next time you see a photographer, give them your card, get pictures taken, etc. It's easy!

BradK, would you like some info on DL's photopass? I'd be happy to add to your knowledge (without actually creating my own page, lol) if you'd like!

sure, anything you can offer is greatly appreciated. i see the CD is cheaper in the parks but has the same restriction buying in the parks at WDW does. i believe i also read you get an AP discount in the parks? which doesn't happen at WDW

i guess if you can read my page and note any known differences for DLR.

The Photopass photographers were also fine with taking pictures of us with our own personal camera too. They would take one of us with their camera and one with ours too if we asked them.

Definitely. I had one person offer to just use my camera and not use theirs, but since we had prepaid for the CD I insisted they use theirs. :upsidedow

BradK, shall do!

Bumbershoot, do they have AP discounts for Photopass?

No, I never heard of any. But the 99.95 rate is pretty good, I mean, it's $25 plus shipping off, right? :)

Oh wait, there might have been, but if it were only for the Premium I would have ignored it b/c I'm just a Deluxe, lol.
