Photo Pass ?

Our group of 4 will be splitting up in the parks and re-joining each other at day's end. A 5th family member will be joining us for just one day. Will the purchase of Photo Pass capture the photos of each of these people, or is the Photo Pass added to the magic band of just the manager of the "My Disney Experience" account?

The Photo Pass is only assigned to the person who buys it for being able to download the photos. Everyone will have photos show up with the PhotoPass logo over them. I buy it with my AP and connect with my friends on MDE then download the photos and share them via text or email or iCloud.

I want to say that if everyone in your party is linked as friend/family in MDE, then the photos of them should show up for the person who has PhotoPass as long as they select the "show friends/family" option. My son, who doesn't have the PhotoPass option added to his annual pass has tapped photos before and they show up in my account, which does have PhotoPass added, without any problems.

Even my daughter who lives in Utah but is linked in our friends/family, can go into the app and see all our photos - they just have the watermark over them.

Just to be sure I'm clear on this: We are using Magic Bands, and I am managing the trip for everyone. So when I purchase Photo Pass, a screen comes up which shows my name only. Am I correct in thinking that all of our Magic Bands will be enabled with Photo Pass when I make my purchase ?? Sorry to be so thick-headed, but don't want to make this purchase if the family members have to be with me for photos.

Think about having an entitlement to your personal My Disney Experience account - when you buy something, only you have access to download the photos without the watermark. Everyone else will see their photos because Disney wants people to buy them one by one! But you bought unlimited downloads so you will have to be the one to download all the photos to avoid the watermark. Does that make sense?

When my friends go to Disney, I tell them not to buy Photo Pass. Because they are my friend on MDE, I download all their pics and send them to them so they don't have to pay.

Nothing is on or specifically linked to a MagicBand. The only thing a MagicBand does is access your account. It doesn't hold information.

You buy the Memory Maker. It's linked to your My Disney Experience profile.

You have a Friends and Family list in My Disney Experience. You will be able to see, download, and share the photos of everyone on your Friends and Family list. You don't have to be with them, in the same park, heck, even in the same state. Since they are on your list, you will see their photos.

I download all the pics and put them in a Google Drive folder for everyone to see and download them as they wish.

Thanks, all! Knowing that all my Friends and Family on MDE will be having photos taken makes it worthwhile for me to purchase. I was just concerned that they would have to be with me at the time so that my Band could be scanned. Appreciate the info!

This was our experience as well. People linked to us on the trip could have a photo taken with us being with them and those photos showed in all of our MDEs. I can't remember if the same held true for them on rides. I seem to remember that ride photos only worked when I was tapped in since only I had PP. Someone else will probably know.

Ride photos work too! I sit at home in Atlanta and download photos and send them to my friends when they are at WDW They just need a MB or their phone configured properly to pick up the ones that don't have tap points.

As long as everyone is connected by friends and family the photopass holder should have access to download photos

I have the AP add in and am able to download my sister & BIL’s pics all the time when her band is scanned
