photo pass

I have a annual pass at Walt Disney World and with it cam the Photo pass. Does anyone know if this is the same photo pass at Aulani or do I need to purchase a separate one there?

It's not connected to any other Photopass systems. A photographer will give you a card and then you can hand that card to all of the other photographers. If you buy the photo from the character breakfast, you can show your receipt at the photo pass counter and they can add those photos onto your card. At the end of your trip, you can purchase the CD - no downloads and no prepurchase options. It's pretty much just old school Photopass!

^^ yes I agree. We have found it to be well worth it. got a lot of great family photos I wouldn't otherwise have.

I have the same question as the OP. We are AP holders too and going on our first Aulani trip this summer. The PhotoPass website has an updated Aulani link suggesting there may be a chance. Wouldn't one be able to insert the card info to the site which embeds the download privileges from the login?

My understanding is there is no download. It's old school. We got a disc.

Just returned from Aulani last week and had this same question before our trip. We are WDW Annual pass Gold holders, which entitles us to all the free photo passes. The bands definitely do not work at Aulani, however once you get the PhotoPass cards from them, just go into your My Disney Experience account and manually enter the Photo Pass numbers where directed. I did just that on my phone while there and they all came up. I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to download them from my computer so bought the CD anyway but when I got home they were all in My Disney Exp acct and able to download.

Btw, I did notice a one day delay on the photos posting to My Dis app on my phone. They would show up on the tv at Aulani within a few hours but seemed to take at least a day for new ones to show up on my phone (when I got home and checked from my home computer, they were all there).

To get all your photos on the dvd, it is $99 unless you do a "professional" photo session while there as well and then they are $49. Definitely can see all the pics first. You can view them from your room in Aulani. Just follow the on screen directions to enter your Photo pass id

Great, thanks for the info! We are hiring a photographer to do a professional session since we have all the extended family there, but I may still like to have pics with characters and such.

To clarify, there are Disney Photo Pass photographers all over Aulani. If you stop at the store, they will give you a map as to where the photographers are generally located. In addition to that, you can schedule a professional shoot. This is with a more "advanced" camera it appeared and with photography lightning, etc. If you want to do the sunset times, I would recommend calling a month or so ahead to schedule. The sunset shoot was $275, which included a dvd with all the photos (we had about 65 I think). Then you can get the rest of your Aulani photo pass photos for $49 instead of $99. Also, I think if you get non-sunset time it is $50 cheaper (don't quote me on the exact discount). That is for a 20 min session. They have a 40 min session too - I think that tends to be for the larger groups.
