how much is it, if purchased before your arrival date? Is it worth it? And does it include ride photos? I remembering reading that there are not as many photographers than Disney World is that correct? Thanks

It's $70 if you purchase it before you arrive (14-day in advance) or $100 at the parks.

Yes, it includes the ride photos and the photos at character meals. I felt like there were plenty of PP photographers around the parks. I didn't have any problems finding them last month when I tried out PP for the first time.

In terms of whether it's worth it or not, really depends on how many photos you would normally purchase and/or how many photos you take when using PP. Normally, I wouldn't purchase it because I purchase ride photos, go to character meet and greets, go to character meals, or take many family photos. However on my last trip, we knew we were going do a lot of character meet and greets, a character meal, and take family photos, so for us, it was worth getting it. I don't think it's something I would purchase for every trip, but once in a while it's worth it.

Hmm, the "is it worth it" questions are tough ones. I purchased PP+ for our trip over Thanksgiving weekend because it was our first time visiting during the holidays and I was hoping to get some good family photos. This was the first time I have ever purchased it and, for us, I don't think it was worth it. Each time we had our photo taken I also asked the photo pass photographer to take one with our camera and those ones turned out just as good, and a few even better, than the photo pass ones. We got a few cute photo pass ones with magic shots and cute poses, but we didn't take the time to meet very many characters and we didn't do any character meals. Also, DS6 was not very cooperative when it came to pictures so sometimes it was a complete bust!

For ride photos, be sure to link the number of your photo to your photo pass. Some rides had kiosks right when you came out so you could do that, but some did not.

There is also a regular PP (non +) version that costs just under $70 at the parks (w/PAP discount it was about $54). That will include your photos, but not the extra borders and stock photos. Lately, it does seem that there have been fewer PP photographers in the parks, but that might just be when we've visited. There usually are CMs around who will take your photo with your camera or phone.

We just returned and took advantage of the PP+. Over three days we took more than 150 pictures with one day at CA and two at DL. We were with our 3yo and 6mo and didn't even ride any of the "over 40in" rides. At Ariel's Grotto and Surfs Up breakfast we were automatically given the photo packages they were selling, I believe at $39.99. It's so nice to have full family photos, and having a photographer shoot most of the character meet and greets enabled my husband and myself to be fully present to enjoy the experience with our daughter.
Totally worth it, for us, and will do it next trip in 2 1/2 years!

We used it for the first time in August and it was totally worth it. We bought it ahead of time and were there for four days. The photographers were awesome! When they saw the PP lanyard, they literally took 15 - 20 pictures at every photo spot. We also got all the ride photos and could pick the best ones (we were able to ride many of them multiple times and it was great not having to choose whether or not to buy on the spot). We also got the printed photos from Goofy's kitchen -- all included.

When we got home, I was able to make digital copies, add borders, play with black & white, crop, etc., all on the website before I ordered the disk. I ended up with over 400 pictures on the disk when it came. Then I waited for a coupon and made a photobook on Shutterfly for cheap. I was also able to use the professional pictures on our holiday card.

Like you I just wasn't sure, but I would do it again in a minute.

Count me in the "TOTALLY worth it" column. For my family (or DH and I on our solo trip) I like getting the JPGs as the print quality of the photos at the park is not even close to what I get with Persnickety Prints. Plus I love the ride pictures and adding borders to the pictures.

Of course there are a few downsides to the advanced purchase...you may feel obligated to make your DH stop for every vested PP Photographer you see on your trip to 'get your money's worth'. Rest assured I did. :thumbsup2 My hubby is a good guy and only gave me a little grief.

My CD with 199 jpgs just arrived today!!. I think I had around 120 pictures for the 5 days at the park and then I added borders & signatures. Many are 'almost' doubles (the PPP takes them in quick succession). The additions of the borders all save as additional photos.

with this and if so how do you do that? Also I went to the clickable link someone posted how do you buy the 70 dollar photopass? Then do you have to pay for another 170 dollars for the photo cd from the photopass? And do you have to pay extra for the pictures? Thanks

Here's the website: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/specialoffers/dlrppp.htm

You pay $69.95 at least 14 days prior to your trip. (It's $99.95 if you buy it in the Park.) They will mail you a CD with stock photos on it and taped to that CD will be a voucher you redeem in the parks for your PhotoPass+ lanyard.

Have as many photos taken with your PhotoPass+ lanyard. Just hand it to the photographer.

You can also use it for all the rides that have photos: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, California Screamin', Tower of Terror, and Radiator Springs Racers.

You will also get digital and hard copies of photos taken at character meals: Minnie & Friends, Ariel's Grotto and Goofy's Kitchen.

A lot of the character meet & greets and experiences (Jedi Academy) also have PhotoPass photographers.

When you return home, inside the CD you received, there will be a code for you to get a free CD with ALL your photos. (You will have an option to add borders, etc to the pics as well.)

And yes, I think it is worth it. Ride photos start at $14.95

On the link I posted in my previous post, just click on the Green "Order Now" button.

I will ask you if you are 14 days or more out from your trip, as well as list some terms and conditions you must agree to.

If you have not created an account, it will prompt you to, if you have one, sign in, then it will take you to your shopping cart.

Once you pay the $70, that's it. You will get a lanyard when you redeem the coupon at the parks. The lanyard is what they use to add photos to your account, and what they use to verify you are eligible for the free photos at character meals. Once you get home and edit your photos (adding borders, that sort of thing) you order the CD, and enter the number on the form inside the case they sent you and the CD will be sent to your home at no additional charge.

Do NOT confuse this with Memory Maker at WDW. It's a whole other beast.

We just got home and I realized they never came by with our photos at Goofy's Kitchen (we were there well over an hour waiting for Pluto to get to our table). So I emailed them and they have printed the photo package and are sending it to me. They have been great to work with, very responsive.

Has anyone had experience with ordering PP+ well in advance of their trip? We aren't going until July, but I know WDW just raised prices on their version of it, and I would like to purchase now in case DL does the same! Just wondering if it would expire before I could use it...

When we were at WDW this fall, everyone in our group was able to have pictures taken and added to our Memory Maker with their Magic Bands. In DL, with the Photo Pass is there a way for everyone to have their pictures added to the account? If we are separated and they have their own Photo Pass card, can they be combined?

With the regular photopass photographers you can get a regular photopass card and add it to your online account that you use with your official photopass+ card. Just make sure you put them all in that one account. With ride photos, if they note the number, you can go back to that attraction and get it on the photopass+ card. The ride photos are not on the same system as the photopass photographers. We took pics of all the ride photos with our cell phones so we could double check as things were added to our online account, and I did have to go back for some as we would forget to swap the photopass+ card! Getting photos with MBs was so much more convenient (they were all linked), IMO.
