I was just looking thru the Photo pass thread and there are some really cute pictures where images of Minnie/Mickey or Darth Vader have been put into the pictures. How do you get those kind of pictures? Do you request them? Just wondering how it works....DS would LOVE a picture of himself with Darth Vader.

Those are pictures that the photographer does, or codes, into the picture when taking that picture. You'll probably notice that the Darth Vader pix are all in the same general area of Tomorrowland, so when you get around that area, find a photopass photog and ask for the special picture. Pretty much whenever you have your pic taken, ask if they can do any of the special pictures.

Then when you are looking at your pictures, either at the photograph places (one on Main Street, one in DCA) or at home, if you notice they aren't showing up in the pictures, let them know, and they can try to put them in. I know one of our Dis'ers had a problem with a Captain Hook photo that could not be resolved b/c the photographer had done osmething wrong with the composition, but for us, when Stitch (popping out of the ground) was missing I emailed them to let them know, and after a few emails back and forth they were able to put Stitch into the picture, in almost the right position compared to where we were pointing and looking. :)

Yes, that darn PP photographer somehow did something wacky in his composition to my Hook picture that prohibited Hook from appearing, for fear of "compromising the integrity" of the character!!:rotfl: ??? I have no clue what he did because when I looked at the picture of me dueling with empty space that would have been Hook, it looked fine. It looked like I was dueling with an imaginary friend, but it looked fine. So I don't know how he screwed it up, but the PhotoPass person refused via e-mail to put Hook in there. So, hopefully I will get another chance for a proper Hook picture on a future DLR trip.

Anyway, Misskitty, since you have been combing the PhotoPass thread already and have seen the different effects, enhancements, poses and locations for pictures available, I would suggest that, if you can, when you approach any of the PP photographers, ask them for any of the enhancements you like and not just Darth, i.e., Stitch in the ground, Tinkerbell in the hand, pointing up to the sky at Mickey, Goofy, etc. on Soarin', Mickey or Minnie sitting next to you on a bench, etc. They may very well offer them to you, but many of them do not tell you about all that is available. When I went to DLR in October last year, I was armed with the details and knowledge of PhotoPass - most of which I got from Bumbershoot - and got a bunch of pictures. BUT, since I hadn't really seen too many folks' PP pictures before that, I didn't know everything to ask for, and as it turned out, I missed out on a few different character enhancements and/or poses because the photographers did not tell me what they had available. So in between October and December, I saw a bunch of PP pictures on the DIS and noticed what I had missed out on, so when I went back to DLR in December I knew exactly what to ask the photographers for (like the Soarin' picture and sitting on the bench with Mickey, for example). But if I hadn't asked, they would not have told me! However, I WAS lucky in that one of the PP guys tipped me off to the special 'Stitch popping out of the Christmas present' picture' enhancement to ask for in DCA, so I did. And I got lucky, because it doesn't appear that too many other folks knew to ask for that!! There were people posing with the present at the Christmas tree, but the photographers were not telling everybody about the Stitch enhancement, for some reason.

Darth Vader is usually off conquering the galaxy and hunting down the Jedi so he can be very difficult to find. I recommend asking a PhotoPass CM either in the hub or Photo Supply. I asked for 3 days at different times and eventually they were able to find Vader and directed me to the right area.

I wa going to rec. this as well. Normally the PP who take the pix at the Jedi Training show take the ones of Darth at the entrance to TL between shows. But they aren't always there. In Jan. I lucked out and there was a PP photog standing there with the light saber looking to take some pix. I went right up to her and she took some of DD9, her friend, and myself. Unfortunately the photos didn't show up and were never found. :confused3 (This happened before with Hook) In all my trips to DLR in Jan. we never got that lucky again. However, the only other time we did the Darth shot (back in Sept.) I asked at the PP shop on MS and they told me to come back around 3 and the PP photog would be there, she was, and we got some great ones.

I was there last night (it was crowded :crowded:) and looked for the PP photog to do Darth but never did find him. It was between the 3:30 and 4:35 Jedi show (which seems to be the best time). I didn't ask at the store since DD9 didn't really care if she did it. I was going to use one of my MnG coupons to "buy" it if we did it. I'm not doing a CD right now. (Kinda feels funny not to be doing it  )

I second Sherry's advice-ask each PP photog what magical ones they can take. I even got Stitch coming out of the crowd in front of the Hyperion Theater. I just happened to ask the photog and he said, yes he could take it. FYI-Stitch is only at DCA, never at DL. (So I've been told)

Have fun!

Oh my goodness....I had NO IDEA about PP and all that it offered! A whole 'nuther part of our trip that I get to research and plan out!! Woo Hoo!!!

Hopefully tonight, I can sit down and go thru the whole PP thread/sticky and make some notes.

Yes, definitely go through the PP thread and make notes on what you like so you know exactly what to ask for. Even if it is just a particular enhancement in a certain location - like if you like Dizneydaz's Mickey or Minnie sitting on the bench waving photo, they can do that at a few different spots. I only asked for Mickey on the bench one time so I got it in that location only (near the floral Mickey at the DL entrance), but they can do it other places. And, if I recall, Dizneydaz hadn't previously known that you could get the Stitch popping up out of the ground by Grizzly Peak/rapids, but you can. You can get that at a few different spots in DCA. The PP people don't always tell you but you can. The best suggestion is to get as many pictures taken as you possibly can - even if you have already been to a certain spot the day before, do it again. Just stop at every PP location you see on every day you are there, if you have time. It can't hurt, because one day's picture by the floral Mickey or with Tinkerbell in the hand might be better than the previous day's shot. That's what we did in December - we had already been to the giant Christmas tree on Main Street the day before for pictures, but we went back the next day to take more, as well as revisited other spots we had been to the previous day. Different days and different photographers may yield better pictures! You can't have TOO many photos, and it will still be the same $59.95 + $7.00 for the CD no matter how many pictures you get. Have them take as many shots as possible at each spot.

Also, mark the back of your PP card with your initials or a tiny sticker or something so you know when the photographers hand it back to you that they are giving you your card (you will see that they have stacks of cards in their hands and you want to be sure you are getting yours). Also, take a picture of the back of your card or jot down the PP card code on a piece of paper so you can see the PP code numbers clearly - this way, in case the card gets lost, you will still have the numbers to enter into the PP site when you create your online account and you can still access the photos you have already taken!

I've been able to do the sitting on the bench with Mickey and Minnie shot on the castle bench as well. I think anyplace where they have a bench becomes a possible location to do the shot.
