Photo Pass Question

Similar to my other thread here about "what is a rope drop", I'd like to know "what is a photo pass". Even the Disney site has all sorts of FAQ's about how to get your photos, etc., but I couldn't find anywhere describing what it is and how to use it. So I just purchased it on their site and got an confirmation email that I purchased it....so now what? Do I just go into the park and have my picture taken by the Disney photographers? Do I have to show them something to scan? I didnt' see anything additional show up on my Disneyland app. Ok thanks for your help!

It's not an actual, physical pass. It's a QR code on the app on your phone that photopass photographers scan when they take your photos around the park. It also allows you to enter the code you see on the bottom of ride photos into the app and download them. You get to keep all the digital downloads of photos taken by the photographers and the ones from the rides.

I don’t even see where to buy a photo pass, I only see where I buy Memory Maker. Is that the same thing?

Are they back to doing Photo Pass at DL? I know they did not when they first reopened so wanted to see the status as we go next month and want to see if it makes sense to get it (ie, enough photographers). Thanks!

Areas like in front of the train station, castle, Cars Land sign, etc do have Photopass for most of the day. Ride photos are also still available. I think there aren't any character photographers other than for Cars and Oogie Boogie Bash.

Photopass photographers can still give out physical cards but most will try to force you to use the app. If you happen to get a physical card, you'll have to scan it into the app or link it to your account on the Photopass website. I find it easier to give the photographers a physical card but the photographers will show you how to scan the QR code in the app. I also screenshot the QR code and just show that.

They also have photographers in front of the Avengers Campus sign, the Falcon and Winter Soldier photo op, and the Millennium Falcon in Galaxy’s Edge, if any of those appeal to you.

Oh my gosh...Photopass is $20 a day? Is there any way to get a discount on it with a regular park hopper?

Agreed...the first photographer we got, gave us a card, told us it's easier for them, because of screen glare...also, if you get a card, please make sure you link it to your account right away, AND take a picture of it, in case you lose it.

Redleader74 - may I ask where you purchased the photo pass? Our trip isn’t for another 2 1/2 weeks but I kept reading that it could be purchased on the app - checked there but didn’t find an option just basic info. I checked on their website but, maybe I missed something, because I didn’t find the option there either 🤔 Don’t know if it matters, but we won’t be receiving our travel epackage (park reservations were done by hotel package) until the 28th, so we don’t have a way to link our tickets just yet.

It's just a daily purchase in the app at this point. I bought it for our California Adventure day, but not for Disneyland. I've found its easier to find Photopass photographers to spend a few minutes with you in CA and also the only rides in DL with Photopass require masks be worn right now.

That’s what I keep reading when I search online, but I’ve tried searching on the app itself (search box) and it just keeps taking me to where the photo pass service info is - basic info, nothing on where or how to purchase it 😣

I think it appears when you’re at DLR. It was one of the many things on the home page these last few days we’ve been here.

Buy now — push this button, very easy.

When I go in the app and press (+) at the bottom (same place where you find the Mobile Order option), one of the selections available is to buy PhotoPass.

Not sure why I hadn’t seen that 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank you so much!
