Photo Pass CD Question?

The photopass website talks about adding character signatures and borders when you log in and retrieve your pix through the site, so it looks like you can do all of that after you get home.

The photopass website doesn't allow you to buy the CD though. So yes you can add borders and such through their site but you have to buy the pics individually at the 12.95 or whatever they go for.

I would also be interested in knowing if cards can be combined. On our last trip 2 of us ended up with 3 cards. We would either forget to hand over the card or the photographer would be too fast and give us a new one automatically.

thanks,

Yes, you can can combine all of your Photopass cards and then purchase the CD. We just did this a few days ago. The website will only allow you to put the original pics on the CD. If you add any borders or signatures you must order those pics through the regular channels. They will not be added to the CD's. However and as a reminder, if you choose to purchase the CD's in the parks (Magic Kingdom and EPCOT) you can add features and they will be included in the CD. The CD holds 500 pictures. :sunny:

Can you add the features if you buy the CD at the Grand Floridian?

Is there a maximum that can be burned onto a CD disc, and would this disc work in the UK?

Sounds a lot better than what we normally pay, $12.95, and tend to buy 10 or more.

i am pretty sure they will work in the uk.I think it is only dvds that have to be PAL to work in uk.

Just did this on Friday at Mk!! We had two families traveling together, and we went back to Toontown with the intention of buying one CD for each of our families. Well, Mac, the CM that helped us, saw that we each had around 75 pics, he said he could combine them on one CD and save us $100. COOL!!!! And it worked great! We got the CD and I then copied the pics onto my laptop and my friend kept that CD. I will try uploading them to the site that I use for developing and see what happens. The only bad thing that happened is that some of our pictures were missing! You see, there are apprently two different sets of photographers in the parks on any given day. Disney Photographers and Kodak Photographers. the Kodak photographers are the ones that can add the cool things like the kids holding Tinkerbelll, or Stitch popping out of your map. Well, on Wed, as we entered MK for the first time, we stopped at the head of mainstreet and had our pics taken with the castle in the background and the photographer said that she would have our girls hold Tinkerbell. We took about 5 photos that morning. Well, when we were reviewing them with Mac, those photos were nowhere to be found! We were SOOO hearbroken. Mac tried very hard to find them, we searched thru over 1500 photos taken that morning from maintstreet to no avail. Mac indicated that this was not a totally unheard of phenomenom...that the Kodak photos don't always seem to download for somereason. UGH!
So, at this point, we have NO photos infront of the castle and we are heading out the front gates after leaving toontown. So, on our way out we had to find another Kodak Photographer and try to recreat the whole Tinkerbell thing. ANd since it takes over 90min for those photos be become available, we had to leave without any castle photos on our CD. Now we will have to purchase those serpartely. So, while it is still a good deal to purchase the CD for us, we will still have to lay out more $$ for our castle/tinberbell pics.
Long story short...Check your photos EVERY DAY if before you leave the parks. Don't wait until the last couple hours and assume they will all be there.

We received our PhotoPass CD this past Wednesday. I loaded the pics onto my computer, uploaded them to Costco.com last night and just got back from picking them up. They never asked for the copyright papers etc. The pics are beautiful and FAR less expensive than the Disney site. Again, only regret is that we couldn't add signatures and borders because we ordered after we got home. Next time, we'll definitely not wait until the last minute... :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but this is just for pics the Disney photographers take, correct? It's not for ride photos?

how do you know a Kodak photographer from a Disney photographer? Do just the Kodak photographers do the pics of tinkerbell and stitch?

:confused3 I don't know thats a good question. :confused3

Last month, DH and I had three different photographers take our picture walking up mainstreet (it wasn't that busy so no one had to wait) and we got a ton of great pics we wouldn't have had otherwise. Like us infront of the castle while cinderellabration fireworks were going off.

just thought I would share.

and next trip in AUG we are going to buy the CD Cuz I spent $100 easy on pics from the website!!!

The ride pics are not yet a part of PhotoPass, but I heard an interview with a WDW imagineer who said they're working on including the ride pics as part of the PhotoPass.

boy oh boy--- if (when) they do this, Disney would get sooooo much more of my money!!!! I already spend a ton in pics, and if it was part of the photo pass, I would be looking at the pics at home and get even more!!!!

Dangerous Dangerous - it would be great to have the ride pics on PhotoPass and maybe even the WaterParks as well

cheers

I cannot wait until our trip in August to get the CD. We always spend way over $100 on only a few pictures. It will be great to get "more bang for my buck". I like reading that I can add borders to the pictures. From what I am reading I can spend my last morning at the Judges Tent to set the pictures the way I want with borders while my DH and DS's ride their favorite rides before we leave to go home. That is right up my alley.

It sure would be great if my then they could add the ride pictures and even better yet the water park pictures. It would save me having to "drag" around the water camera. Plus then I would know I have much better pictures that I normally buy anyway.

We just got home from WDW. We got the CD for $99 + tax. We got ours at Downtown Disney at the Scrapbook Store. I think it's called World of Memories? It's at the very end, near the RainForest Cafe. So you do NOT need to go into a park to view the pix or buy the CD.

We had 4 or 5 different Photo Pass cards and they were all combined onto one disk. My DD4 went to the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and after she was all done up, the photographers took a bunch of pix and those were also included on the CD. When we went to character dining restaurants, they took a picture of us, but none of those pictures were on the PhotoPass card or CD so you had to buy those separately for $27! (We did not do this.) The Photo Pass photogs were with most of the characters and by most scenic locations (the Epcot golf ball, Mickey's sorcereer hat at MGM, MK castle, etc). Their pictures turned out much better than mine (do you think that has anything to do with my cheap camera?? :rotfl2: ).

Good to know since we usually end up our trip to DTD and if we forget we can get it there!!!
:thumbsup2

Can you add borders and things at the DTD CD making place or only at Epcot and MK? Also wondered if I could do that at the GF? And how long does it take to get the CD? I can see my DH rolling his eyes over me picking photos and "enhancing" them with borders and such!

I am confused! I would love to get the photomovie, but I don't want to spend any vacation time picking out borders, etc. Can't that all be done at home? Also, we will probably have a few different cards since we are a large group. How do we get it all combined and order a photomoviebefore we go home?
Thanks! :)

This is so exciting!!! I sought out this thread to learn more about PhotoPass and all of you have given me a great education. :thumbsup2 . It would be really awesome if Disney added the cruise line to Photopass. I cant wait till our next vacation in '07 (4 day Wonder & WDW-length of stay TBD). Trying to talk DH into a WDW weekend getaway this fall. Can't wait to experience photopass! :woohoo:
DH and I were wondering something. Has Disney added more photographers to support the Photopass program? The last time we were there (in the parks) was before it started, and we dont recall seeing a large amount of them.

I have noticed more photographers with characters, in front of TOT, RnR Coaster, Haunted masion Etc.. So i'd say yes.
