Photo pass benefit question

Do I have to link something in MDE to my AP? Or is it automatic on the AP once it's activated?

I called MS with that exact question last month; they told me it's automatic w/the activated AP...I go to WDW next on 8/28...will try to remember to report back on whether it works...

Our AP worked find with nothing needed on my part, other than linking the AP to my MDE account.

I activated my AP in December. Worked flawlessly. I had a trip in May with friends so I linked them to my account. I was surprised when I downloaded the May pictures that I also had my friends pictures from a trip last October (I wasn't there). She's a CM, so she doesn't have an AP, so I emailed them to her.

Yep, as soon as I upgraded to a Gold pass last December all the photos taken within the previous year showed up in the PhotoPass section of my MDE app. (I already had a PhotoPass account - so if you don't that's all you'd need to do.)
