Hi everyone! I heard below that Disney offers photo packages that cost about 200 dollars. This seems a little high to me. Do most people purhcase these or just buy whichever photos they like? Please advise, thanks!!! princess:

I recommend starting out with the 10 pack for $89.00. This allows you to choose (10) 5x7 maximum. You can also trade pictures that you picked for ones that are printed later in the cruise. You can also trade one 5x7 for two stock photos. When we got our photos from our cruise, we requested the special Pirates of the Caribbean Night around one of our pirate photos. They kept printing the wrong frame and the wrong date. Finally, through all the frustration and reprints, they gave us two copies of each reprint. Not bad after waiting for the actual prints we wanted.

Oooo! Also in the 10 pack, all 8x10 are $19.95 each. We got a few larger size photos with characters and the Captain.

All total, I think we spent about $120.00. Note: Bring a digital camera or regular camera with you so that you can have a crew member take a photo of you and the characters while the professional photographer is photographing the moment. Allows you to pick and choose from your own collection rather than having to purchase all the professional photos. pirate:

What is a stock photo?

It's a photo that they already have made up, so it doesn't have you or family members. They have some of the ship, the characters, etc.

We purchased just the pictures we liked no duplicates. I had read on the boards you can go to ***************** and click on Shutters Release, you fill in the info req'd and bring that to the store where you want to get your Christmas picture cards, or whatever it is you want. We brought in the release to Wal-Mart, no questions asked, no problems.

Just wanted to add that the pictures are actually 6x8 not 5x7. They are a great deal though. We got the 10 pack last summer. I also bought one 6x8 frame on board and then found a nice wall hanging that will hold 3 of the 6x8 photos at Kohl's when we got home. :flower:

Whoops! My bad! That is what happens when you upload over 450 pictures from my Disney Magic cruise to Costco.com requesting 5x7.....I have 5x7 on the mind when I was typing that thread response!

Most of the 6X8 Shutters photos were of our children posing with different characters. Since I also took a picture with our digital camera when they posed with the characters I didn't feel like I needed to purchase duplicates. Photos of our family and our kids against the special backgrounds were printed out as 8X10s and they are not available in packages. Because of this, we opted not to buy any packages. I bought two 8X10s and two 6X8s for a total cost of about $60.

You can also buy a very nice foam photo album that is 6 x 8 at the gift shop on board. Not the one where the jewelery is sold but the other one, the one that is always crazy. Anyway, it's a nice keepsake, instead of 10 individual odd-sized frames. We leave it out on the coffee table for all to see, and for us to remember til the next time.... :cloud9:

I forget the different package sizes, but you can start with the 10 picture package and upgrade if needed. We did the 10 picture package, and the pro's got plenty of great shots of the kids we ended up upgraded to the 15 I think, by just paying the difference between the packages.
